The Haul: May 2017

I just received a knot I want to try. It's a 24mm Frank Shaving Silvertip Flattop. It looks like a nice knot.

From a local shop, an Ocean boar brush. The white paint shows crazing in the paint. That and the "Made in Germany" make me think pre-WWII.
Anyone have details?

 

The 30DC LE handle for me.

 

I will now have three knots to choose from for the 30DC LE handle. If it doesn't go in that one, I have several in the to be restored pile.

 

Eventually someone is going to ask the question...

Only a guess, but I would say somewhere between mid to late 1920's and 1945. This is following the idea that sterilization started in the late 20's and East and West Germany would have been marked after WWII. As I said only a guess.

Went to the Maggard's meet today with my son Nate and had a great time. Met a lot of cool wet shavers and artisans, and finally had the chance to smell many great products that I can only see online otherwise. I helped my son pick up his own shave set with a couple of aftershaves and splashes. He selected the Maggard's V3A razor head in grey with a really nice looking blue anodized stainless handle, a Maggard's 24mm synthetic brush with a black vase handle, a box of 100 Astra Green blades, Sterling Black Cherry Soap and AS and Sterling Bay Rum Soap & AS. Combine that with his C&E Indian Sandalwood soap in a wood bowl, Williams Mug Soap, Cremo Cooling cream, and A Bodyshop Macca Root creme and two Aqua Velva AS he already had and he is set for a long while!

I bought for myself: Feather replacement blades for the OneBlade, B&M Diamond, Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars, & The Sudsy Soapery Delor De Treget shave soaps. I also picked up The Sudsy Soapery Sandalwood & Citrus Balm & one of those Ming Shi Futur knock-offs!

I am afraid my face will look like a crusty version of the Blue Man Group! B&M were giving them out to make the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster Drink related to their 42 soap! A unique promo I must say. I think Mikey died drinking these according to urban legend.
