Merkur Futur Clone....My thoughts.

This is anticipation! I'm not afraid, more curious.

 

toptop14 still has it as being a mental sliver. I feel like giving him a piece of my mind.

 

Those of you who ordered this from various eBay sellers, I hope that you get what you ordered.

I ordered two of them (the Ming Shi version) through AliExpress for just under $14US shipped. They arrived in good condition and have no apparent manufacturing flaws.

I shaved with one on each numbered setting, using a different number each day, and got some great shaves from it. I didn't have any problems with uneven blade gaps. The adjustment was smooth. Blade installation was easy. (I placed the blade in the cap, then snapped the handle on.)

This is a solid product that gives good shaves. I can see using this on 2 through 4 quite often (1 was too mild, and 5 & 6 were too wide open for me).

 

Don't let it go over 185 days after that you cannot lodge a PayPal dispute.

I'm at about 85 days for one, 50 for the other, and if they don't refund this week, I'll do the paypal dispute.

 

Next time do it after 4 to 5 weeks from ebay. Much easier than PayPal.

Ebay always sides with the buyer.

With the cost of Education these days, you got off with a cheap lesson, Sir. Still hope you get satisfaction, either product or refund.

 

Weirdly enough, with a decade plus of buying from China and other places, this is the first time I've had stuff not show up - and it was twice in a 30/60 day period.

 

I sent him a picture of the original razor I ordered and he sent me the same message as yours.

 

I saw in The Haul, Jim @Jayaruh received a Clone.

Thanks for sharing Jim. Between all the TSD members purchasing these Clones, we'll get it figured out who has the good copies of the Original Futur!

Don't know yet. They might all be the same production line but different presentation boxes and distribution centers. The next two or three weeks when they arrive the comparisons will happen. Considering the aggressive nature of the Original and the reports of the Clones following suit, I suspect there will be a few up for resale or PIF. These clones cost so little, the CONUS shipping charges will double their value.

 

I put a Rockwell blade in the Ming Shi this morning and on setting 2, I completed the second pass of my Thursday shave. It did a fine job. I look forward to putting it to the task next week starting Monday.

 

I haven't got the two I ordered from Uncle_Ding yet, but I checked his feedback this morning and he has two negative feedbacks from buyers who claim they ordered a Futur clone razor and got TTO junk instead. Now I'm leaning toward thinking I will be receiving the crappy TTO's instead of the futur clones.

I'm wondering if he had a small quantity of the futur clones and when he ran out just shipped the tto's to some of the buyers instead of notifying them he was out of the clones. Not a good way to do business if he did. It's been 3 weeks since I ordered mine, so I expect them sometime in the next week. I'll post when they come in.

 

I'll also be adding a negative review if I get that cheap TTO too. What he did is unethical and just plain wrong. Sure, I got my refund, but he did that in hopes that I wouldn't give him a negative review.

 

I am sorry that this seller is such a problem.
