    It's a Bigelow Parkin razor.
Here's an old thread about this razor.

This morning was my third shave with the Fatboy. For some reason I just don't love it like the Slim; I should, but I don't. Maybe it's a "put it aside and try it later" thing. Maybe I'm just a "Slim kind of guy" (no comments). I don't know. Used Route 66 Barbershop Hop. Good soap, good lather, and thanks to @RyX for the sample to try. Since I now have a tub of Stirling Barbershop that is my "go to" Barbershop scent, it's gonna be hard to beat, but I'm considering all contenders as they present themselves.

In other news, I have added Blenheim Boquet (another great soap that falls into the Barbershop category) to the Shavy prize box for the same reason.

17 May 2017 Hump Daaaay Blade/Soap Focus Shave

Pre: Prodigious amounts of Hot water and bloom water from the soap
Razor: 1952 Gillette Super Speed Black Tip
    Soap: Regiment Shaving High Speed
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
Brush: JR#161 NY Mets Special Edition
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Fine "American Blend"
This morning I was up early(around 0500) so I did some stuff(walked the puppy, emptied the dishwasher, folded clothes and had a double espresso). Needless to say, I felt the need for speed. So I pulled up Regiment Shaving's "High Speed". JR#161 whipped it up into a great smelling slick lather. So I picked up the '52 Super Speed/Shark and got after it. 2.5 passes of shaving excellence produced a near BBS.
I can hardly wait to give the Voskhod a shot.
Splashed on some Fine "American Blend" that I still have from my WCS Sampler and I was good to go!
    Hump Daaaaaaaay!!
    Have a good 'un everybody

My third shave went pretty well minus a few weepers that stopped bleeding before I even used the witch hazel. Very little razor burn and no redness after the shave. The last two times I had a swath of razor burn redness from my cheek come down and taper towards my chin. Pretty sure I didn't shave diagonally like that. I have almost always had a beard for years and I was told I had a patch of dandruff in my beard about that same area when the weather was colder. I'm thinking it was a dry, sensitive area that's all better after a couple shaves now because last night there was no big red swath.

The quality of the shave still needs a little work but definitely decent, I look clean shaven just not as evenly smooth as I hope to get it someday.

And don't worry @RyX I will not be using that aftershave balm again, it seemed to do its job but smelled like chemical butt.

Day 3 with the PAL Injectomatic. The shaves are definitely improving in terms of quality as I get the angles dialed in a bit with this Injector and using short 'buffing' type strokes. Would call this a DFS in terms of closeness. It just hasn't been very smooth, yet. Will change the Chick out for either one of the other Injector blade brands coming my way, or the other cartridge of the Chicks that I haven't opened yet. Who knows, maybe I did get a bad batch.
    Have a great day all!

After some careful deliberation (5 whole seconds) I want to ask to join this group with a 30-day focus on my newly arrived Asylum RX. I'll try Feather Pro, Feather Proguard, Kai Protouch and Schick Proline while in this focus trial to find the blade that goes better on my mug. The results shall be shared on this thread for general mockery or appraisal. Cheers and see you soon! ;)

Well, it happened again-lights didn't go on, so back out into the hallway I went. 3 straight days of bathroom shaving was nice, but the wall socket wouldn't give me the 4th.

Just a suggestion - put a tarp down on the hall carpet to catch the leg hair.

Appraisal and mockery will, no doubt, come. And congrats on the 5 second appraisal. Pretty sure that's 90th percentile here. Welcome!

I'd go the "put it aside and try it again later" route. Last summer, my favorite razor was the Slim. Around the end of the summer, I traded @RyX for a Fatboy. After the first couple of shaves, I felt it was more aggressive than the Slim and didn't like it as much either. Somewhere around the end of October, I picked it up again and discovered my groove with it to where it is now my favorite.

Honestly, though, there's nothing wrong with being a Slim kind of guy, either.

I'm sure the electricians will be over shortly. They have to complete this job first.
