  1. @cmorris357 thats easy and fun :signs136: get yourself a sharp straight razor and hold the tip with one hand and the tang with the other then proceed to shave ATG by moving your head not your hand. As long as you only move your head you WILL stop before hitting your nose. Move your hands and you may win a Shavey

    Easy, Feather Pro.
  2. Welcome to the thread!
  3. Sounds good. Do not worry too much about over smooth for now. That will come along.

Welcome. I know nothing of those razors but others here do.

Run an extension cord in with a lamp.
  4. Hello and welcome, that looks like a pretty decent kit you got there. If you stick with it for 30 days you will be amazed at the quality of shaves you be getting!

  6. Nice pic, Clint. Raspberry lemon sounds divine! Have you had a sniff of Route 66 Cranberry Citrus yet?

  7. I have not tried R66 Cranberry Citrus yet but it sounds like a scent I would like as well.
  8. Glad to hear things are tolerable at least. Another great pic!

  10. Nice Rocket Jim!

Congrats, the shaves will just keep getting better and better!
    Nice warm photo, Jason!
    Welcome to the thread!
Bad mental image! There was this old man who lived best my grandparents house who had so much body hair that he looked like he was wearing a sweater when he was shirtless. This brought back that memory, Paul. Thank you, LOL!

  15. I tried it from the pass around box and thought it was a great scent!!
  16. Thank you both. I came into the office and took care of a couple of pressing items. I will be leaving for home in a few minutes.

I think this razor is just easy to photograph with a great color and not reflective.

Thanks for the tip I will put it on the list. I still have to get the number of soaps down some before buying anything else.
  17. May 17th - Anisette on ice

    Merkur 34C
    Gillette Stainless blade (Day 1)
    the Phoenix brush
    DIY PSO
    Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    alum/Thayers/Nivea

First time with Glacial Obsidian. Nice and freezing cold and had a wonderful anise or black licorice scent. Definitely was stronger than the menthol scent. Excellent lather. If you love anisette or black licorice, this would be a must buy.

Gillette Stainless was better than the Rapira Stainless but not a whole lot. Was slightly less noisy but still noisier than my better blades. They were smooth but not very sharp. Got a DFS+. Missed the BBS on the jawline even though did 4.5 passes (2X ATG). Not the most comfortable blade but will get the job done. Alum was slightly stinging but less than Rapira. Quieted quickly.
  18. I picked up this razor at and antiques fair on Sunday and decided to give it a MAYhem spin. Since the razor has a fairly traditional head, I figured it would be an easy shave. As usually happens when I am overconfident, I was incorrect. You don’t realize how important a handle is for determining angle until there isn’t one. Since this razor is almost the equivalent of holding a blade between my fingers, I really struggled with angle. Having chosen a Feather blade, and not wanting any blood or irritation, I went slow. I managed two passes, ATG and XTG, with no blood. I actually ended up with a very nice DFS+ shave. The downside is that it took longer than a straight shave.
