Guys, this is very important: For those of you who find the Sharp Dressed Man scent mild it's because some customers found the fragrance oils too irritating to their skin so I could easily understand why there was a necessity to tone down slightly the scent's strength. As for the Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap, yes, other customers find that the menthol seems to drown out the Sharp Dressed Man scent, but Rod said that he'll be looking for a way to increase the scent without causing irritation to anyone who has sensitive skin. Again, I just sniffed at the new ET bowl I received recently and despite the menthol being powerfully-present I still get more than enough of the SDM scent to satisfy me.
That's great to hear. Now, if we can just get or hands on some Glacial MITA Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Glad you pointed that out, @crackstar. Mild was the adjective I would have used when first smelling the aftershave. It's nice, don't get me wrong, just wasn't quite what I thought. I may give it another go in a sample set(as I did earlier). Perhaps it deserves a second chance.
I must be lucky because my skin, which is generally sensitive has absolutely zero problems handling any of Rod's soaps. Fragrance oil or essential oil, the skincare is 1,000% perfect. @Gnomeo0228 I'd also love to get my mitts on another Glacial MITA!
You're lucky... my skin said "Hell no!" to Sandalwood. I was bummed to. I really liked the scent. I love all things Sandalwood too. That's the only Stirling Soap that's given me any issues. Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Talking about a sandalwood scented shaving soap or cream my skin almost caught fire when I used C&E Sandalwood. The scent was quite nice and it lathered beautifully but did it ever burn. OMG, that was a let-down for me. After my shave this morning with the Glacial ET not only was my skin feeling frozen-stiff but also like I had been to a spa. I never saw such perfection in a shaving soap in my life. I'm really looking forward to using the SDM sample I have tomorrow. Ok, no menthol but at least I'll get to enjoy the scent and lather, and the soothing effect. Now, if there was a way to get a cologne with that scent.........I can't afford 375,00$ on Green Irish Tweed! lollll
No. All I could say is that it was a no-go for me with that soap. It felt bad to have to get rid of it but I just couldn't continue using it.
I just compared the ingredients, and yeah the C&E ingredient list is too complex to likely figure it out. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
The only other soap I've had a problem with was Caties Bubbles LPV. Another shame, cuz I really liked that scent. I've been a little afraid to try another scent from them since. Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
I really, really enjoyed the SDM soap this morning. Its scent came through so nicely and the lather was sublime!
I decided to upgrade the menthol sensation tomorrow from about 4.5 to around 7. The Sottozero soap from TFS is kind of mild compared to the MITA. I'll use the Sottozero on Sunday. A friend of mine today wanted to try a shave with my Glacial MITA but I convinced him to use the regular one instead! (this way I keep it all for myself) He said he enjoyed it a lot!
When your allergies are acting up, your sinuses are clogged up and you live in one of the worst places in the South for allergies, Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo is the bees knees. It opened my sinuses right up and my nose ran for a good 15 minutes. Finished up with some Osage Rub. Usually I find Osage fairly mild, but added to the Glacial, my face was tingling for 15 minutes after I finished shaving. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I honestly find the Osage Rub very cold, although not nearly as cold as a Glacial witch hazel. The Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap actually shook me up a little (yes, it really did!) the first time I ever used it last year. I was expecting it to be cold but this level of cold really got to me!
Got to use Arkadia yesterday for my birthday shave. It was just awesome!!! Love the scent and the lather was great(as always for Stirling). Got to add this to my must buy list. I especially like that it is a version of a reasonably priced cologne, Terre d'Hermes. Will need to get some of that too, unless Rod will be making his own cologne of Arkadia!!! Even with this Italian beard, if I grab a full tub of every Stirling soap I love, I won't need another soap for 10 years or longer and that is with shaving daily!!! Thanks Rod for all the good stuff!!
