So, after a few of us were discussing on the "Merkur Futur Clone....My thoughts." thread about getting another razor than what we ordered, I actually decided to try it out, even with a Lab Blue for the blade. After I loaded the razor with the blade, I gave it a visual once through before using it and noticed that one side had a slightly larger blade gap, no big deal. Also, the blade guard on one side was touching the blade on one end. I "fixed" it by using my needle nose pliers and tweaking it a bit. I actually had a thought that this might cause the razor to fall apart, but it didn't. The first pass, WTG, actually went pretty good without any weepers and felt ok. My second pass, ATG, actually mirrored the first one, also felt ok. On the third pass, ATG, is where I felt some tugging on some areas, but when I turned the razor around and used the other side, it went away. I did not feel any irritation while shaving and what surprised me the most, I actually had a BBS shave, but I did have to apply slight pressure while using the razor because of it being so lightweight. Also when applying the witch hazel, there was slight stinging, which I rarely get and was noticeable when putting on the after shave. So I guess overall, this razor actually works, don't know for how long though, and could probably be used for a travel razor, especially if you're not worried about losing it. One more thing, if you don't want to use it, the case, with some slight fitting on the insert, could be used for a Gillette Superspeed or comparable razor, for travelling.

Great shave today. The few times I've shaved with this razor were kind of rough. It's really aggressive. I was at a point where I even put it up for sale, but I thought " let me keep at it ". I'm glad I did. I did 3 passes with minor touch ups and 0 blood. The aftershave found a couple of small spots that I overshaved at. But man bbs smooth with little effort!

+1 with the Cosmo. My tub aroma I would rate around 6 out of ten in strength but hard to beat the slickness and post shave smoothness of SV soaps.

Like all the BSG soaps I have tried super slick and great post shave feel. Aroma on this is hard to describe as I don't have any other scents like this one. Closest I can describe it with just one use is something like Aventus but milder aroma, more citrus and sweeter to the nose. I can really pick up the citrus notes when I first splash on the aftershave then mellows out more like the soap.

I saw a Boker at the Jewett Flea Market last Saturday...black scales, and no tree, but it had that same "King Cutter" blade. It had a $300 price tag on it. Sure was purdy, though.
