    Don't know Teddy Roosevelt eh?

This term was coined by United States President Theodore Roosevelt, who referred to his office as a "bully pulpit", by which he meant a terrific platform from which to advocate an agenda. Roosevelt used the word bully as an adjective meaning "superb" or "wonderful", a more common usage at that time.

    Prep - shower
Pre - Badger Balm pre-shave oil
    Brush - RazoRock Plissoft
    Straight - J.R. Torrey
Strop - Wjhipped Dog Poor Man
    Razor - N-Type Injector
    Blade - Personna (6)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Alum, Thayer's Rose WH, AV 5-in-1 balm, Fine Green Vetiver
    Frag - none

Today was shave #4 with the Torrey and it was probably the best first pass I have had with it yet. Only two tiny nicks and very little irritation. I did pass 2 and 3 with the Injector.

Overall, it was a really great shave.

The NGT is on the list for soap that is hardest to lather. It has excellent slickness but dissipating lather. It is much worse than modern Williams.

$160-180 retail new. Considerably less in the used market. Bokers make some very good razors and you'll find a good amount of them in the used market. Many round points.
My first SR was this vintage mid1930s Boker..

I don't doubt what you're saying about that soap but you should try a couple of the Olivia soaps. They're from Germany and olive oil-based, so even though the skincare is very good the lather is next to impossible to create.:)

Today's shave was with an old Commie Razor. I took it for a spin on the Surgical Black Arkansas progression stone, and I believe this is the smoothest shaving razor I have, so far. I had a 2 pass shave that didn't even feel like the hairs were being touched, but the BBS finish told me differently. Zero issues.

    Razor- Russian "EKSTRA" ZTV 1958"
    Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy

We enjoyed it. While the critics are pretty brutal, I thought it served as an excellent sequel to Prometheus (and prequel to Alien). Alien will always be my favorite. Aliens (the second installment) was obviously a Cameron flick which was good in its own right, but quite a departure from Ridley Scott's vision. Thankfully, Scott returned to the franchise with Prometheus and now Covenant. He intends to do one more "prequel" to tie Covenant to Alien. I suspect the critics leaned more towards the thriller/action essence of Aliens, hence the lackluster reviews of Scott's return films. If you're not familiar with Alien (the original), it's a space horror flick on the surface, but quite psychological and Prometheus was downright cerebral with uncanny religious themes. Scott responded to the critics by adding back more of the creatures' presence in Covenant, but it maintained that brooding, eerie Ridley Scott essence.

    Nivea Men Face Wash
    Tabac Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #170 Synthetic
    Gem 1911 Lather Catcher
    CVS SE
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Musk AS

The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #170 brush. I did two passes the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher razor and CVS SE blade, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
