No issues here. Have the Bay Rum, Tequila Lime and Eucalyptus Mint lather with a breeze but I have the black plastic jar. Maybe the versions shipping in the cans are the culprit.

Tonight's shave, was with and old Straight. It was a super sharp, and smooth shave, that left me near BBS with just 2 passes. No Nicks, cuts, or weepers, just smooooothness.

Late evening shave. Was waiting on this one for about a week to get home and it finally did. Yep, my PAA DOC Evo was on the kitchen table. I swear Gents, I was in the shower with boots and all my cloths on and was handing them over to my Lady giggling, rambling and muttering indiscernible words of joy and excitement. It did not disappoint one bit....
I'm still giggling like a 10 year old school girl who's just gotten her first Valentine's Day card.... I'm in love. Have a great evening Gents. :love055:

Jeeves of Hudson Street - Black Tea
    Ever-Ready 100T | Elite Razor Manchurian
    Ever-Ready 1912 | Delta Echo | Gem PTFE (1)

Jeeves of Hudson Street finally released a matching splash for their outstanding "Black Tea" soap. I've been nagging Bryon about the need for this splash ever since I received the soap.

Since I've previously commented on the soap, I'll be brief in reiterating that it's one of the best performers in the business, with the post-shave being its chief attribute. "Black Tea" specifically imparts a mellow, slightly smoky, black tea, but gentle tobacco and citrus fill out the fragrance quite nicely. I was eager to extend this fragrance with a splash, and my persistence paid off.

The performance of the splash is that of your typical alcohol-based aftershave. There's just enough searing to remind you that it's alcohol and this is soon followed by a gentle menthol cooling. The menthol ratio is pleasant and gentle if not downright subtle. In reality, if you require a post product after using Jeeves soap, you did something wrong, but many of us use the alcohol splash for the routine, the sear, the cooling, and the fragrance.

That fragrance is why I'm here. Not surprisingly, the splash has so much more depth than the soap. It opens with an elegant slightly smoky oolong with smoldering cured tobacco. The tobacco is much more evident than what's experienced with the soap such that, by its nature, it almost overtakes the tea. For a good two hours, those two notes shared the stage in a sophisticated manner. The drydown unveils citrus notes of bergamot and very faint lemon before the dried oolong begins to dominate once again. I believe the addition of lemon somehow prevents the bergamot and tea from turning into a singular contrived Earl Grey fragrance but rather allowing the bergamot to stand out a bit, stepping in and out with the tea. This fragrance has so much character that it never gets old. The longevity is about 6-8 hours which I found surprising for this kind of fragrance. I honestly can't do it justice with my description, and not to overstate it, but "Black Tea" is instantly one of my favorite fragrances. Now, I'm off to nag Bryon about making an EdT.

I know that I am repeating myself, but you are one heck of a photographer. These soap companies should hire you to do their ads.

Thank you for the kind words. My Wolfman is favorite razor. The finish and precession are truly perfection. The shave is always smooth and enjoyable. Maybe it is in my head, but the results always speak for themselves. I really feel lucky that I am able to experience this pleasure and indulgence.

I've said it before, but the Delta Echo treatment on your 1912 is just amazing. This razor is so great looking in it's stock finish, but the contrasting black really kicks it up a notch. It really is something remarkable. Great photo.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20170523_000256.jpg

    Prep: None
    Razor: Ming Shi Futur clone
    Blade: Gillette Yellow (1st shave)
    Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
Soap: Wholly Kaw Man From Mayfair
Post: Myrsol Emulsion, Dr. Jon's Propoganda

Had a wonderful first shave with the Futur clone. Also first time with the donkey milk WK soap, the regular tallow formula is awesome stuff, but this may be a tad better in the post shave depatrment. Anyways, very nice barbershop type of scent and excellent lather. Set the Ming Shi to 2 and got a great shave even with no prep. Finished off with Emulsion and Propoganda for the perfect finish. Hope everyone enjoyed their shave.

Yeah man. That razor is top level. I mean I think it's right there with my restored/replated Gillette Empire (which is my prize razor). A truly amazing job was done on that 1912. Also, that EverReady 100T looks like it was made yesterday and matches up with his shave gear perfectly.

Great shave today. Slugger 159 built lather easily and the scent is pleasing. Unconditional Surrender finished up right and is a good pairing for me. [IMG]
