I got my QShave from AliExpress today and it looked nice. My first pass of my shave was set on 1.5, the second on 2 and the final pass on 2.5. Great BBS shave I will try a setting or two higher on my next shave.. This is a very verbose razor. My guess is this is just slightly more aggressive than my Progress and Parker Variant. I am going to try and pick up a couple more of the QShave.
By that, I'm assuming you mean talkative, as in "provides plenty of audio feedback". Is that correct?
Ming Shi Shave Nivea Men Face Wash Col. Conk Lime Shaving Soap Jayaruh #170 Synthetic Ming Shi Adjustable Rockwell Swedish Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayer's Lemon WH Aqua Velva Musk AS The VDH Deluxe Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #170 Synthetic brush. I did two passes the Ming Shi Adjustable razor and Rockwell Swedish Stainless blade, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. I did the first pass on 4 and the second pass on 3. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Well I got the old bait and switch. The futur clone was pictured when I ordered but another razor was sent. When I looked at the pictures they had actually changed those as well. I guess $3 gone. lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just realized I got the same bait and switch. The picture is not what I ordered. At least it is only $3, but I will leave negative feedback and scrap the idea of ordering a Futur clone. I'll stick with the German one.
I still can't figure out how they changed the picture after the item was purchased. Whatever I threatened negative feedback of all one stars unless I get my $3 back but I don't count on it.
What they do is that they have a set of pictures - usually four - in the actual item itself. Then, in the description field, they have a link that pulls content (basically a web page) and displays additional information on the item. What you'll find if you go back and look at your purchased item is that there's a link to see your item as it was purchased. The original images show up there. So they can't claim that you ordered the cheapie. I found that the cheapies all have the _right_ hand side of the guard bar tilted up, taking some pliers to adjust.
Pretty straightforward to get one. Broken record here but QShave on Aliexpress, $7 with tracking. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Broken record here - AliExpress requires credit card and account. E-Bay can use PayPal. edit - Victoriasheng has already been used to purchase one for a couple of people here. I'll probably do the same.
Yes, understood. I wonder why virginiasheng has two different prices for the Mingshi. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I was also wondering that. All I can think of is that the one for a lower price might be a way for people to try it, like a promotion. Then later on, the other will be their regular price, just a guess.
victoriasheng from my pass experiences with them do ship pretty quickly and will give you a tracking number as soon as they get the payment.
I purchased a Ming Shi 2000S after watching a youtube video. I have to keep mine set at "1" and use very good technique to get a good shave. I did learn about the copyright issue before I made the purchase. My understanding is that it is ethical since the handle is not exactly the same, and it does not claim to be a Merkur product. This is not my favorite razor, and I do not intend on buying the Merkur Futur now that I know it is a bit too aggressive for me.
As far as I know the patent for the Futur expired long ago and wasn't renewed, so there actually is no legal issue.
It's not difficult, I am sure you know, to get your refund. It sends an appropriate message, rather than forgetting about it. I hate getting swindled. I don't swindle people, I expect the same in return.
