Today I used a corked Red Label Personna in my Merkur 33c with some of that Almond scented soft shaving soap from Ginger's Garden. I know many of you think corking is a no-no, but it really makes a difference for me on the first shave of a blade. BTW, I am still trying various blades and I imagine it will still take some time for me to select the one or two that work the best for me.
Thursday 10/16 . . . [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel [*]Brush: C&E BBB [*]Cream: TOBS Mr. Taylor [*]Razor: '40 Gillette Regent Tech for face & '24 Ever Ready SE for head [*]Blade: Polsilver Stainless DE (shave 1) & Ted Pella PTFE Coated SE (shave 1) [*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil [*]A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & C&E Sienna ASB [*]EDT: SCS Smoke & Beads EDT [*]Result: A beautiful BBS shave today. So comfortable and fun that I wanted to do it again right away. But did need to get going on my day. Second time that I used the SE razor for my head and again no blood and the shave was BBS. The TOBS cream made enough lather to actually shave twice I believe. Wonderfully scented with great slickness.
mein lieber Freund Tom!!!!! Es freut mich immer dir zu sehen. Hoffentlich, bei dir und deine Familie, alles ist in gute Ordnung!
