    Who says you have to find some strange and dangerous or semi-broken shaving implement to have MAYhem? Just get a Fatip! My face is pretty raw at the moment, thanks to an apparently over-zealous approach to the shave tonight. This aggressive razor with the Russian Perma-Sharp is a beauty or a beast. Last night beauty shone. Tonight the beast showed up. No serious blood. In fact, just one show of blood on the razor itself that looked bad, but apparently came from a tiny little nick on the left jawline. However, the irritation is fierce. Clearly I either added too much pressure or just got sloppy with the angle. Or both. This is a razor that doesn't forgive much in the way of errors. The only one I own that is less forgiving would be the 1918 Old Style.

    Tabac was the soap as I haven't used that in a very long time. That smoky leather aroma was marvelous and it was as slick as any soap I've used in the past month. A reminder why I love the classics. The JR46 was a perfect match for it, producing more than enough lather for a couple of night's worth of shaves.

    Overall I'm not complaining. The alum is burning nicely still but the finish is BBS. I'll take it. Besides.....if it doesn't burn once in awhile where's the fun, right?

    I had to go with 42 today. It was a great shave with a welcome fresh springtime scent. Maybe I'll have a Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster when I get home from work. [​IMG]

    What a delightful three pass shave I just had!

    The Electric Sheep soap gave me some of the best lather a man could ask for, its wonderful scent was ever present, and the soothing sensation felt and still feels so good. Rod is as I've said so many times, a soap genius and so is his lovely wife Mandy. The Krampert's Bay Rum aftershave was a most welcome finish and my BBS face loves it! :happy088: :happy088:

    Mastro Livi Hand Forged "Rasoio Italiano"​

    Luxurious shave! This morning I used this breathtaking Mastro Livi straight razor of which I have a very fond memory. It is in fact the straight razor Mastro Livi made for me and which is part of my "Italian Shave Set". I remember when Mastro Livi and I discussed about this set and how I wanted it to be, not to mention the excitement of seeing those ideas turning into reality thanks to the superlative Mastro Livi's craftsmanship and skill. I made a video that day - the link is below - and it was a wonderful day because for the first time shave brush, loom strop and straight razor were finally together and united. As for the shave, this extra full hollow blade gives an incredibly smooth shave and sings like an Italian tenore! To me it is absolutely incredible how Mastro Livi can ground a blade by hand and with his wheel grinders only while obtaining such a super thin grinding like onion skin with a very consistent precision and thickness all over the blade. Marvelous straight razor!​
