Mrs Samurai is competent on AR15, 12ga tactical pump, and. 32ACP. Also knows all the gi chokes and basic pressure point strikes. Just in case.

Yup. I know what you mean. You should be a local living near LSU during a football game.

I think it's time for me to wrap up my MAYhem, as I'm out of unusual shaving devices. As it turns out, I worked six razors into my MAYhem rotation.
The first one was the razor that started this for me, the Sayuri. Let's just say that buying this poor excuse for a razor was a mistake. This was possibly the dullest edge I've ever seen on a factory blade. I managed one pass with very little beard reduction and gave up and did a second pass with a real razor. I kind of feel bad about sending these horrible blades out to my Shave Den brothers to shave with. OK, just a very very little bad. I do want to thank @cmorris357 for sending more blades out and sharing in the encouragement to jump off this cliff. Please address all legal correspondence to him.
The pink disposable Kamisori was a much better shaver than the Sayuri. I did manage to get a nice shave with it, but it took a long time due to the tiny blade. This little razor is probably actually an eyebrow shaper and even proved to be too small for a troll. I only sent the pink ones out to @Drygulch and @NeilSTL and should have sent them to everyone else instead of the Sayuri. Sorry about that guys.
The best shave of the month was hands down the modified Gillette New that has had the comb removed. After this, I've decided that combs aren't really necessary and were just added to razors for the "Living on the Mild Side" crew I actually had a wonderful shave with this razor and will probably pick it up once in a while when I want to use a DE.
The absolute worst shave of my life award goes to Finger Shaver 2.0. This idea looked good on paper, but shredded my face even though I had muted the corners on the GEM blades. I was not able to get though the first pass because of the number of wounds. It did serve a couple of purposes. It taught me that if you lather up after the first pass with this thing, you can create orange lather. It was so bad that I noticed it still had blood spatter on the blade when I took it out tonight for pictures. It has also served as a good source of stories for my wife to tell friends and family to generate looks of shock.

(BTW, this contraption not being nominated for "Most Ill Advised MAYhem Idea of 2017" makes me wonder who is providing "favors " to the judges)
The last two razors gave me one good shave and one horrible shave. The DE blade on a popsicle stick gives me a very nice shave. So good that if my shaving kit ever gets lost in the baggage hold, I'll eat a couple popsicles and make one of these in a hotel room. It beats a cartridge IMHO.
The paint scraper was another bad idea. It shaved about as well as the Sayuri. No blood, but no bueno. It's back in the painting supplies bucket
It was a fun month and I've enjoyed watching all of your efforts and want to remind a couple of you to get back on your meds next week before you hurt yourself.
    Have fun!

Dude...this applies to just about anything and everything. People are so inconsiderate. I would usually attribute it to ignorance but I've been in situations where I say something to bring it to the attention of someone I'm with and gotten the response: "They'll wait" or "I don't care". All the while I know if they were experiencing the same scenario from the opposite perspective they'd be flipping out and I'd have to listen to them go on about it. Some people...

Stayed on the Arko Challenge day 41...and a nice two pass shave was the result! Kept it simple and heroic. Thankfully we've arrived at the weekend, and I am on vacation for nine days. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great weekend!

As the month winds down I thought I would post a few thoughts on the Ace synthetic brush I have used most of it. I found that the best way to use it is to dip just the tip in water. If I dunk the whole brush everything is too wet. It works good on soaps and creams, and face lathers good too. It will not be replacing my regular brushes, but I am glad I got the JR #137!

Thanks Clint. The B&M Oceana (Aqua,Bergamot/Sandalwood/Jasmine) is very easy to lather and it is slick. The scent is mild in my opinion. It is a light, clean aquatic that goes with everything. A scent that's perfect for any time!
Barrister & Mann was founded by Will Carius as a solution to his problematic sensitive skin in 2013. Unsatisfied with the soap and cream options on the market, he struggled to find a product that was compatible with his skin. After 5 months of trial and error, he developed a product that is now known as the Barrister & Mann Tallow Shaving Soaps. As part of their high-quality standards, each fragrance is blended in house and by hand and focuses on creating unconventional and original scents. Made in the USA, the Barrister & Mann product line is continuously expanding and remains a family operation.
Ingredients: Aqua, Potassium Stearate, Sodium Stearate, Potassium Tallowate, Sodium Tallowate, Glycerin, Potassium Cocoate, Sodium Cocoate, Fragrance, Argania spinosa (Argan) Oil, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Lactate, Tocopherol Acetate
Each jar is hot-filled with 4 oz of soap.

It is a great cause. I used to mentor for it when I was in college. I worked with a couple of North Minneapolis kids, and it didn't go well in the long run, but I like to think that wherever they are, they know someone tried. It is one of only a few charities I really still give to.

Thanks, Doug. Have a great day golfing.

Great post. B&M is great soap, and Will is a really involved guy. I have not tried a Latha line soap, but his others are some very complex scents, created with a lot of time and expensive ingredients..... While I don't necessarily consider it my favorite brand, I know of nobody else who invests the time into the actual scent factors that he does.

He is very much a vendor who deserves support from the community. My only recommendation is to buy samples before tubs.

One of my absolute favorites! Smells like you are at the ocean. The AS is excellent as well. The latha tiaga is my favorite forest scent too. Really good stuff and a great value.

I broke out my Koraat this morning, which was a lot of fun. I did give myself one cut as I got myself a bit hung up due to the size of the blade and lack of practice; I also had two small weepers. But, I would still call this a successful shave, as I ended very near BBS on two passes. I am about to make a trip to Houston to visit the Ikea store as we are shuffling around the kids rooms and need a desk for my daughter. My son is coming with me, so we are going to have a dudes day. I hope everyone has a great day.
