    Unconditionally Smooth Saturday
This was my first use of a Rockwell razor - a 2c - and I'm impressed enough to order a 6s. I used plate 3 today and the shave was extremely smooth and easy. I am looking forward to using the heavier more aggressive plates at some point. The razor is solid and well made, it feels very good in my hand. The lather was great as usual and my face feels amazing.
    Prep: Chattilon Lux US salve
    Soap: L&L US
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Bronze Shadow
    Razor: Rockwell 2c plate 3
    Blade: Rapira Super Stainless

It's almost freaky how this tub of Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap is still delivering, but it still is. The lather was sublime as well as bitterly-cold and beautifully-scented with that Sharp Dressed Man scent. I think it'll last for another couple of uses. (I hope!) I totally clued out and enjoyed a wonderful three pass Dolphin Smooth Shave although that damned Wilkinson blade started getting tuggy, especially on the last pass so I'm debating on scrapping it for tomorrow. The Diana balm also contains a boatload of menthol and it's completely unscented, with awesome moisturizing to it. The Alcolado Glacial splash matches the Rubby Dubby Doo in menthol freeze and it smells light with some citrusy notes - very nice. :happy088: :happy088:

    Hope y'all have a great weekend! :)

This was yesterday evenings shave. Held out for a couple days waiting for the Brass General, never showed up. Somewhere in Lancaster, PA still since Tuesday. It's only a 90 minute drive to Colonial Razors from where I live. Oh well, my 3rd shave with the PAA DOC Evo did not disappoint. A great 2 pass shave, BBS and loving it. Best shave yet. Wined and dined the Woman of the house, and got in some Tango & Cha-Cha in the Big Apple. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend Gents. Remember those that gave their all. God Bless everyone.... :happy088:

Hot water wash with a washcloth and donkey milk soap
@GDCarrington restored Rubberset/ custom two band finest
    Bombed Route 66 Cranberry Citrus
    Pearl open comb tto
    Persona lab (1)white wrapper
    Omega Alum
    Iced L&M Florida Water (atomized)
Route 66 Cranberry Citrus balm Botanical Balm
Today's shave was nice. Always nice to use my Granddad's brush, restored by Gary, miss my Grandad and Gary as well. The cranberry citrus smells so nice. Three passes with the pearl, it shaves above it's pay grade. I'm totally smooth and comfy. Finished with an overkill of alum, iced FW, and botanical balm. Now I'm smooth, soft, and smellin ' nice.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. 20170527_103035_resized.jpg

I've found mine likes painting strokes over swirling strokes. Pity I like to swirl, twirl, or go in circles (however it's called).
I think its a semouge vs omega thing.

Mixed emotions this morning. I tried my first straight only shave. There were some positives; no blood, almost zero feedback from the alum and I ended up with a DFS. Plus this soap and AS combo are fantastic. The negatives were all in my first pass, it was very uncomfortable. The blade almost felt as if it was hesitating and I had to use an uncomfortable amount of pressure to stop it from jumping. To eliminate a sharpness concern I grabbed a fresh off the hones razor that I know was done correctly but I had the same issues with it. The 2nd and 3rd passes went great once the initial reduction was done. Could it be that my beard is just too coarse? I really don't like to use hot water because I get some irritation when I do but I need to use something you soften up the hairs. I'm open to suggestions.

A pre-lather while stropping may help. Stay with cold (brr can't believe I'm recommending this, I love me some hot water to shave), but lather up while stropping, wash it away with a washcloth, re-lather to shave. The extra time soap and water on your face may soften enough to make the first pass smoother.
