In some cases, Christmas music DOES begin on Nov. 1. But I do see your point.

It's a tough battle ahead, Adam.....so many great companies out there. Never too early to get organized.

So last night's shave really was DFS as I discovered this morning. Probably the best shave I've had so far. Sure there was a tiny hair here and there I missed along the neck/throat, but it was to be expected. But I get right up under my nose, around the mouth, everywhere was good. When I woke up this morning and started running my hands across my face, I was still nice and smooth. Made me wonder if I was going to even need to shave tonight, or go with the electric tomorrow.

Well, I decided to shave and used only the following three things:

    (1) Schick E3 razor with a blade that has been used for over a week
    (2) Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel
    (3) TSD Energy After-shave Milk

That is it. After my shower, I still felt smooth for the most part. I could feel stubble, mainly along the jaw and neck, and it felt like just what I would need for a touch up. So decided to go with straight witch hazel, soap be damned! And it was pleasant. A small nick (kind of expected more), and that was it. Nothing perfect, but enough to get me through. We will see if I need the electric in the morning.

I did break down and buy a Colonial razor, and got my shipping notification so I'm sure it will go out tomorrow and hopefully have it by the end of the week. I've also been in communication with Larry over at Whipped Dog, so I should hopefully have my straight next week and I can begin my new journey.

Monday night... doesn't feel like it... back to work tomorrow (bleh)....

Ouch Adam @Drygulch. I can empathize having been injured doing wood work, auto repairs, etc. Glad you had a clean sharp blade rather than something dirty or rusty.

I have the same lower neck problem. Usually heat related. Happens to me every summer.

The shave angle on a GEM is much different as well. I start with the cap flush against my face and roll out VERY slightly from there.

I find myself less MAYhemmy as the month closes.

Taking inspiration from a question by @LevelupShaves I got the best of Arko & Menthol Monday with a SuperLather using Cremo Cooling. Pepperminty lemon scented, plenty slick, and freshening for the menthol made it an enjoyable shave. I found a tangled knot in the High Mountain hair that took a few moments and a comb to resolve. Glad I caught it before I wet the brush. Moistened, loaded Arko from the tub it's pressed into, and to the bowl with a dollop of the cream. Seemed like the brush hogged lather but I was being careful to use paintbrush strokes rather than swirl. Three easy passes with the Aristo, followed by fussing with my lower neck & straightening my recently trimmed sideburns awarded a fine error free reduction. Alum rubbed silently, Osage splashed on cool, Proraso Refresh lotion completed the set for a memorable experience.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

When I finish the last of my Rise Super Foams, I'll have a decision to make. I've been considering trying Cremo as a replacement. It's pretty expensive, though, as I recall. Still some time to ponder this one.

I forgot about the binder clip to hold a DE blade shave. Two passes and DFS. Chin was tender.

6 ounces is $8 on Amazon, so it would be far from the most expensive soap you would own.

The Tula isn't one of my prettiest razors, but it is one of my best shavers, to be sure. Fresh off a touchup, I am as smooth as a baby.

I don't use the Almond Cream soap all that often, yet I love it every ti e I do, and decide to use it more. It is a dead ringer for Cella in scent. A great soap. A touch of Gentleman, and I am ready for bed.

Hope you all have a good week.
