May 2017 30 Day Rule/Focus Pix & Discussion

Right. I play winter music year-round. I've never understood stopping playing it when snow is still flying.

 

I find Cremo at my Kroger, or you can order through Walmart, too. Several types available; Regular Original, Cooling, Sandalwood, & in the woman's section Coconut Mango and Lavender. It's economical in that you squeeze out how much you want and it doesn't take much. Gives a nice post shave feeling, and lots of slickness during use. There's also a Post Shave Moisturizer that I find great during dry times of the year. I like it more than a bottle of much more expensive Clinique brand I tried.

It seems most of our MAYhem here has been occurring outside the shave den. Last weekend my eldest daughter ended up in the ER with kidney stones and back problems. This weekend, my youngest daughter, who is five, manage to jump off of a bed while playing with a friend and break her ankle. And today, my wife's dad passed away while my wife was out of town. I spent most of the day at the hospital helping her mom, and waiting for my wife to arrive. It's been a rough couple of weeks, so I been primarily lurking and haven't been posting with any kind of regularity. I wish I had been more dialed in, because it seems I missed a lot of fun.

On the shaving side of things, I attempted MAYhem by starting with a straight razor for the first time, but only managed a few fantastic, blood free shaves. I tried a new, odd shavette, and while I cut my finger trying to load it, it mowed my face down just fine. I picked up my Feather Kamisori again, and it played nicely. As did the CJB Kamisori. I even revisited my first DE razor, which I had sworn a blood oath against, and found that it was far more tamable than I remembered. I didn't have the drive or willpower to push the limits like some of our resident thrill seekers. @Drygulch, @wchnu, @mrchick, @Norcalnewb, and I'm sure others provided a great deal awe-inspiring and cringe-worthy moments. Perhaps next year I'll feel a little more driven to pursue the limits. This year, I salute those of you that pushed life to the edge (with an edge).

 

Chris @SharptoothC - Sorry to hear about the trials and tribulations befalling your family. Take care of things at home first. We'll be here when your life settles back down.

 

I'm going with that set up next week I think the Cremo Arko part I mean I also bet Cremo would go well with Col Conk Limefor a mint lime scent.

That is a rough month, we will be here when you're ready to return. Praying the rest of year is filled only with good news.

 

That's a combo I might not have considered, but I do have just one puck of Col Conk. Guess which scent! Yup - Lime. You just chose another setup for my shaves this week

Goodness gracious, Adam... Everytime anyone threatens to take your Antics Crown, you find new and interesting ways to injure yourself and maintain MAYhem Royalty status...

I am sorry to hear about the recent injuries and the death in your family, Chris. My condolences to all of you, and I included you in my prayers tonight. Do what you have to do, drop in when you can, and I hope you can find support, fellowship, or at the least a few lighthearted moments of amusement here when you need them.

 

I appreciate it, John. I've missed it quite a bit here. This week will be hectic, but I hope to be able to drop in during whatever lulls appear.

One handed shave. I'm growing out my goatee for now. Three passes with no skin stretching. Some irritation and a DFS.
