Remember, Mayhem is almost done, so there's not much time left to propose nominations for the Shaveys!
It amazes me what some people will do in the name of competition. I posted this picture of my little wounds from Finger Shaver 2.0 Adam then tries to lop off his entire finger tip. I nominate Adam for the MAYhem "Most Competitive" award
Will Adam be able to make it to the Awards Ceremony to except his prize? All joking aside I hope he is ok and still can count to ten with his shoes on. Sent from my phone using some app
My wife had "The Look" when I bloodied myself with the Finger Shaver 2.0, but I did not catch it with my camera. I think some of us got the look, but chose to use discretion by not sticking a camera in her face at the time. This prize didn't surprise me by going unclaimed. My wife also gave this thread "The Look" when she saw that the Finger Shaver 2.0 didn't even get an honorable mention for ill advised. She believes that it was the most ill advised shaving attempt I've ever made. I told her there is lots of crazy around here. It's been a fun month guys.
We should probably all get together and get something for the ones that have to put up with us crazy guys. I am a confirmed bachelor so I do not have that problem...
A few last minute corrections and nominations before the Shavy Awards Ceremonies commence. First of all, although I have no doubt that @Norcalnewb and many others here are very skilled Evil Geniuses, I mistakenly gave him credit for @PickledNorthern 's nomination. This has been corrected. Also, @mrchick 's wife is correct that the finger shaver 2.0 should have been included in the worst idea category. At the time, the thinking of the Academy was that the shave went well enough to prove that it wasn't that bad an idea. In retrospect, mastery of one's craft should not take away from the fact that in most anyone else's hands, the finger shaver 2.0 was a spectacularly bad idea. In addition, the oversight of @mrchick not being nominated by the academy for the Best Shave with the Worst Implement (or something like that category). Finally, the Academy has relooked both the Innovation Category and the Trailblazer Category and made changes in the nominations as appropriate. The academy is ready to move forward. Are you?...
Did you miss that the Finger Shaver 2.0 was a dismal failure that caused much facial bleeding. No way do I deserve credit for a best shave with that evil tool. It was definitely ill advised, but in no way successful. I'm not sure anyone could shave with it. Thanks for the nomination for ill advised. I will accept that one
Final two items of note for the day before the Shavey awards show begins (probably tomorrow or this weekend). 1. Today is the last day to get any remaining Shavey nominations on the board. 2. Two Shaveys have already been awarded prior to the main ceremonies (see below), however several other categories created by members of the 30DC need to be awarded prior to the big show. @Drygulch , @Linuxguile , and @MR41 , please feel free to announce the winners of your categories and prizes on this thread and I will post them to the big board. Since they are your awards and your categories, who you pick, how you pick and how many you pick is entirely up to you. Also, you can coordinate with the winners to collect their addresses and deliver the prizes.
