ES Claymore Se V1 & Schick Proline Type P [ 16]
Have a fascination with this blade, as it is still going strong . A pretty good Shave with no problems.

 

I prefer the design of the Push Button handle to the G-Bar but not surprisingly the PB ultimately fails where the other post Micromatic razors fail, simply too mild to get to BBS on my head without ridiculous effort. The shimmed Rockwell-5 made quick work of what the GEM couldn't handle. Oh well.

I have to agree, the pushbutton is nice for a noob that still adds some of the cartridge pressure, but for a bbs I had to do extra 2 passes of pick ups..

 

That Hussy, has an angelic touch... She gets better with age.

It's a Tom White B-400 with an Omega Pro 48 knot.

GEM Featherweight

It has been a very long time sense I have used the FW. In the past I had only used it to shave a days growth. This morning while the family was asleep still. I decided to take a nice leisurely morning shave.

I have not shaved in 3 days. So I decided to see what the FW can do.

I picked my favorite soap Tabac. I then chose a brush that is a guaranteed lather maker. That is my JR#90 Tuxedo.

Everything fell perfectly into place. With a new SS blade loaded and a face full of slick lather. I went to town. The FW just wiped the hair away. As I always do 3 passes and no cleanup. I checked my face after 2 passes. In all honesty I could have stopped there with a touch up on my pesky neck. It would have been a DFS to be proud of.

I chose to do my 3rd pass. I finished with one of my best SE shaves ever.

I'm right there with ya Tom. Tomorrow's shave will be on a two day growth with the FW and Blue Stars. The Cella will be the soap of choice.

I prefer Carbon Blades, but I have none right now. I will be picking some up today.

edit: And I'm loving all the GEM love that is in these last pages hehe

 

I envy you guys in the other side of the Atlantic for having more options in terms of GEM blades... Not complaining about the Personna GEM PTFE coated that we have but I am always curious to know how others would perform.

 

Curiously, having shaved with the Featherweight, G-Bar, and Push Button in recent days, I got the better shave from the Feather. Could be a fluke, but will be interesting to see how the second round goes.
