  6. Tried a shave with a mach 3 today that I bought awhile back. Didn't enjoy it much, felt like I was scraping my face. So after the photo I tossed it.[IMG]

  7. Tonight's shave was with a French Faux Frameback, that bit me, on the thumb, before I even started. The blade sits loose in the bone scales, and it flipped around, after I stropped it, and was about to fold it up. Right on the tip, short, but deep. Superglue to the rescue. I'm going try to tighten the blade in the scales, and hopefully the scales wont break. The bone is fairly fragile.
Back on subject, I had a fantastically smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. This Frenchy takes an sharp edge, with the best of them. Zero issues with the shave. Beautifully shaving razor.

  9. I still have some Mach 3 carts, in the original packages, from several years ago. I haven't been tempted to try them, but I have been tempted to toss them in the trash. Too many bad memories, and pain using carts.
  10. I understand the feeling but rather than pitch them, consider donating them to a local homeless shelter. I am sure they would be appreciated.

Sorry I have been neglecting the SOTD thread for about a week or so. Trying to slow down on wet shaving obsessions, anyways, went with PAA for today's shave. Love this scent it's unlike anything else I have come across, Sandalwood and oud mix perfectly together. The Topaz Platinum blade went pretty well, not the greatest shave but so far the blade is servicable. Finished with matching A/S and the scent lasted most of the day. Hope everyone has a great shave!

  13. The closest homeless shelter is 45 minutes away, and its not economically feasible to drive 1 1/2 hrs round trip. to drop off a razor.
I do my part, for the homeless, in other ways. Like, take them off the street when they are begging for beer money, and drop them off at the Star Of Hope Homeless Shelter, downtown Houston.

  14. Been running all day and didn't have time this morning to post this morning shave.

Firsts today with using the NOS Perssonna Super Stainless blades from Great Britain and a new shave soap Patchouli from the Grooming Dept. All I can say is WOW, what a super BBS shave this morning. Starting with the Patchouli shave soap, it soaked up more water that I expected but a super rich luxurious lather, that provided a slick razor glide and smooth post shave feel. Shave was so smooth with the soap and the Personna SS blade I had to check that it was actually as smooth on the face feel as it felt and looked in the mirror. This blade is sharp but smoother for me than the Personna 74, Could it be the combination of shave soap formula from the Grooming Dept and the blade, will wait and see on Monday when I switch over to another shave soap as I plan on using the Grooming Dept Lavender for tomorrow shave. As for the Aroma, still out on this for me as I am not a fan of Ylang Ylang and I can pick it up in the soap but the rest of the ingredients agree with me: light and dark Patchouli essential oils, Patchouli Flower, Geranium and a hint of Grapefruit. Still early to tell but this vegan soap is definitely top 5 if not 3 in my den.
