  1. Wonderful picture, Doug!
  2. Thank you Jim. You are very quick. :)
  3. Another interesting shaving equipment picture, Doug. I also think that's a neat looking brush. Is the handle lathe-turned from an acrylic rod?
  4. Great photo Doug. The Timeless just looks cool.
  5. Thank you. Yes it is hand lathe-turned from an acrylic rod.
  6. Thank so much Clint. :happy088:

My 30DC LE brush with cashmere knot showed up today and it's a beauty. Even Pippin is impressed. Thanks again, Jason. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. We have a forum full of some of the best and most generous people on Earth.

  14. That is a great looking razor. The Bismarcks are awesome.
  15. M - Bomb is such a wonderful thing.
  16. Sunday shave

Today's razor is a Silverloaf western grind kamisori that still has it's original edge. The edge was smooth and very sharp. Four passes and a small weeper and tiny nick plus some feedback kept this shave from being epic.

  17. So I am going to try this. I am having connection issues today.

My shave this morning with my self honed razor was rather pretty good. I decreased the angle on my razor and found a better shave. I did three passes: WTG, ATG & XTG. I know, right now you are say to your screen that I had that order wrong. That it's supposed to go WTG, XTG then ATG.

Here is the story. I typically do a two pass shave WTG then AGT. After that I do another ATG pass with a safety razor for clean up. Now I can get a better shave with my DE but I am trying to get to that point with my str8.

Now back to today. When I got done with the ATG pass I was feeling full of myself with the better shave from the smaller angle and shaving with my self honed razor. That and watching Fuzzy's post this morning where he was shaving with a new to him shavette. I decided to try a XTG pass. After it was all said and done I got a good shave. I found myself feeling my face throughout the day. It was really close to BBS except for under the jaw line and the bottom of the neck.[IMG]

  18. I feel like shavettes are sort of the "Great Blade Equalizers". I'm not saying every blade is the same exactly, but that the differences between them are much less noticeable in a shavette.
  19. My normal passes are WTG, XTG, XTG opposite direction then ATG. When I have time and everything is spot on I will do a final WTG pass.

    Well done!
  20. I am starting to agree. Like you said , not every blade though- I tried one today that came with something I bought, some brand I've never heard of and it was terrible. I changed it very early on.
