    B&M Seville

I recently received several B&M soaps and they smelled wonderful. I was dying to break into them. For today, I have selected Seville. It smells wonderful. The first note is a good citrus scent that leans towards an orange note. No bitterness what so ever and very natural. This is combined with a herbal note that keeps it fresh. there is also listed some oakmoss but not knowing what this smells like, I cannot comment on it. All I can say it this scent is wonderful. It is just complex enough to be very intriguing but simple enough to give a clean fresh sensation. All I can say is I love it. I would also consider this to be on the stronger side of scents. The bathroom was not inundated but the shower was. I felt pampered.

I used Jayaruh's brush and only loaded lightly for 20 seconds. I had to add a good amount of water and it quickly soaked it up and made a beautifully thick and slick lather. Excellent cushion as well. Brushing it on I was able to apply as thick or thin a coat as I desired and I still had an opaque layer on my face. In no way was it pasty either. Floppy peaks were seen and tossed around as applied. Ne

This was perfect lather. I had enough for easily 6-7 passes with this soft and short loading. Will need to remember to use less next time. Even though this is a bit more expensive I think the fact you can use so little for 3-4 passes makes this more affordable in its longevity.

The Astra SP was still able to do its job on its third usage without a tug. 3 passes to a BBS.

What I found interesting about this soap was that it was slick and cushiony but allowed complete feedback as to the status of the hair. I do not know if anyone else experienced this but for me, some soaps seem to hide missed hair and only until after the soap is rinsed off do you find it. There is a property that I do not know what it is called but refers to a soaps ability to stand hair up. I think B&M does this excellently which is probably why I can tell where I hit and where I missed very easily. This soap provides feedback.

In the end, Seville is a great soap with an excellent scent. I would recommend anyone to try B&M soaps if you haven't. Don't miss out.

The Seville is one of my favourites as well, Frank. On the B&M website, he states that his Reserve soap base is even better than the Glissant base (like the Seville). Even if it is just as good, it will be awesome!

I took a cue from Paul this morning and went with Stirling Barbershop and Clubman Pinaud. I also reached for my Classic Samurai Shavette that I ordered off of the 'Bay. I haven't used it in a long time, as I first used it early in my shavette journey and it didn't overly impress me at the time. In fact, I was considering PIFing it. I don't even remember what blade was in it. I just grabbed it and used whatever I left in it. I need to check later, because today was one of the most effortless, comfortable, enjoyable and epic shaves I've ever had. I M-Bombed the mess out of the Barbershop, and the whole combo just left me feeling incredible. I will be revisiting this setup often.

In Louisiana we call it High Humidity. I was driving the other day, the sun was shining but I needed to use my windshield wipers. I'm thinking 110 - 120% humidity.

The "Liquid Sunshine" has been going on for several days and is supposed to be continuing for the rest of the week, here. Should give me plenty of opportunity to try out the "stormy, grey" scents from Catie's Bubbles and Chiseled Face from the pass around. Today was another day with the Panna Crema Nuavia pass around soaps. They are really great! The more I've used them, the more sad I am that I'm sending them off to the next guy this week. Today, I took the opportunity to try out the Semogue LE brush I won in the TSD raffle this month. Up until this point, I honestly hadn't been overly impressed by a boar brush. Maybe I didn't have the right one. Maybe I wasn't patient enough to break it in all the way. I don't know. However, this brush impressed. I'm still tinkering with dialing in knots, handles and brushes, so the final ruling is a ways off, but this one will definitely be a keeper and pulled out on occasion for sure.

Not completely shave related, but special thanks again goes to RyX for rescuing my lost post, and thanks to all of you who have offered encouragement to my girls. The Shaveys have become a big deal around here! I'm going to get the prize list cleaned up and we're back to the races!

Your girls have been awesome! I still think it would be cool for us to find a way to thank them for being good sports.

Thanks Chris, but totally not necessary. They already think they are celebrities and will be hard to deal with going forward. You guys are becoming somewhat an extended family to them, which I find both sweet and disturbing all at the same time. I'm looking at it like I can say "look Daddy's not the only crazy one, look at what these guys do". I should probably be saving pictures of this stuff to later make the point "boys are stupid" in their teenage years.

It's been raining here for 3 days and after I finished everything I had to finish I decided to relax and have a great shave. It was an excellent 3 passes with an amazing lather that I whipped up in my new The Distinctive Goat Maple Fully Ribbed Cherry wood bowl.
