An awesome shave from a different razor!

I wanted to give my 1950's Super Speed a day off so I took this Sabi 3 Piece Ivory Handle which I noticed was in the bathroom under the sink. It had a Derby blade in it, but I have no idea from which day so I figured what the hell - why not. I don't think I've used this razor more than five or six times in the last few years since it was sent to me as an extra by shaveabuck when I made a purchase from him. In terms of aggressiveness it's definitely not as forgiving as my Super Speed but I adjusted right away and by instinct I got the right angle, so my three passes went off without a hitch. The Frozen Tundra soap's scent is so beautiful, it's lather worked up so rich and slick, and the menthol power felt damned strong - man, can this soap ever freeze a guy's face off. The Lemon Chill witch hazel was as Rod describes it "A perfectly icy finish to any shave." Its scent compliments the YSL Pour Homme eau de toilette so well because that stuff is also quite lemony. BBS the way I like it, so mission accomplished!

Crowne & Crane Thuringian Forest today. 20 seconds to load the HFD/TGN Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Wilkison Light Brigade NEW Chromium in the Black Beauty. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with YSL M7 Oud Absolu EdT.

If I wouldn't have had so many soaps before my clean-out started, perhaps I would have bought a Catie's Bubbles because I hear they're fricking awesome!

Sticking to my plan all week - 1 soap or cream, 1 brush, 1 razor, 1 blade, 1 AS. (had to switch aftershaves mid-week as I exhausted the Proraso Green splash.) I get 7 fine shaves using a few brands of blades in rotation. Change blades Saturday afternoon and off to the races Sunday morning with a fresh blade. Plus, I can use the same pic all week!

Cream: Proraso Green
Brush: VDH boar

Friday 6/9/17

Jojoba and Grapeseed oil preshave

A wonderful shave today with my newly acquired V1. The perfect razor for those days you are in a rush. I only despined the blade as I broke my nibbler tool. I'm not sure modifying the blades any further to get them to click in like the Feather blades is worth the trouble. However, after 1 shave with the V1 and the GEM, and 2 shaves with the V2 and a Feather, I'd say the V2/Feather combo delivers a superior shave. I'll need more shaves with both to really form an opinion though.

The New Improved with Tuckaway handle is a marvel of shaving ingenuity. The new Minora blade glided through the sample of Barrie Bay Rum leaving my face smooth and soft. Finished with Gentlemen's Pride ASB and Pinaud VIBR for a great start to the day. The case is incorrect for the razor but look great together. Have a blessed day everyone.
