Last day for this line-up. Changing the blade this afternoon. Trying a Nacet for the first time. I'll probably go with the RR 37 slant again for the week. Use Proraso Blue, Aqua Velva Ice Blue, Semogue 620.

AS: Captains Choice Bay Rum in a Lime sample jar.
Great shave this morning with a few random thoughts: 1. As always, the Stirling was a winner. However, now that I own 1 iced and 1 glacial, I am determining that the menthol is a nice "change it up" kind of shave, but I am not a menthol junkie like many guys on TSD. 2. I had a bit of a surprise when a free sample of lime AS sent to me as a free sample from the Captain was actually bay rum. Surprise!

 

Could it be the sample is a Lime/Bay Rum? I think it's supposed to be similar to Dominica Lime Bay Rum.

 

Yes, I think it'll be another Glacial shave for me tomorrow. I'm thinking either Lemon Chill or if not that, why not Wintergreen!

 

Wolf Whiskers, Gillette slim, water, can-do attitude, and a little coffee...

 

Mmmmm.....love that scent!

 

I love it too. I am trying to convince myself that I don't need another mountain man set since I have the Ozark mountain set. It's a hard sell. Even to myself.

Apollo (Solingen) aluminum razor of unknown vintage (help?). Not the smoothest shave ever but pretty efficient, BBS with some considerable buffing on the back of the head. My preshave + LA Shaving Soap Fougere = pretty great post shave feel.

Nope. I was doing some prototype testing for the Captain on a new 45th parrallel AS, and in talking to him, he mentioned his lime smelled exactly like limes. This was a free sample that I think got mislabeled, as he sent me a bay rum sample of soap with it. It is a good bay rum scent, though.

 

SOTD: After a hectic week at work (five days of VBS on our campus), a nice quiet morning shave was a restful way to start a peaceful June morning. Vintage Otto Deutsch 'Hans' 5/8" sq.pt; Soap Commander 'Influence' soap and aftershave balm, Omega silver tip brush. Have a blessed weekend, gents!

My Super Speed has proven to me that it's the best razor for me because although it's a mild DE it gives such easy, comfortable shaves whether I'm in a rush or if I take my time. The Sabi is still very good, don't get me wrong but it doesn't have the comfort or the forgiveness that this 1950's treasure of mine has. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap's frigid lather always makes me feel great, the Glacial Unscented balm has a wonderful icy-cold effect with lots of soothing, and the Lemon Chill witch hazel is an absolute must-have for me year round!

 

What razor is this? Very nice.
