Delivers a close , long lasting shave. Appears it may off the shelf, being replaced by a budget S/S Version.

    Tonights planned shave. [IMG]
Tonight I plan on this shave setup. Undecided on soap. I make that decision after my shower.
I have been hankering for a great wedge shave. This is one of my all time favorite razors. It has been a chaotic few weeks. I have not been able to shave as often as I like. So I have 4 days worth to cut.

I hope everybody has a great weekend.

Trying out my new E-Bar this morning. Lovely mild but efficient shave. I love the look too. Next up I'm on the look out for a 1914, I hear that may be a little more aggressive?

    Blade: Personna Twinjector
    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave
    WTG

My Schick L1 is transformed with the Twinjector blade. Still smooth but more efficient. One quick pass this evening. Smooth and comfortable.

    Have a great night!

I think they are. The HFT is like the FW and the Pushbutton..mild but good. The little lather catcher is a much more classy shave!

For me the best of the modern Schicks that I have tried with a Twin blade, that includes the Adjuatables.

Sounds like just what I need. I have the 12 and the 24, which are great razors, so there is a little gap to be filled.

Yo Jim and 1924 lovers everywhere... have you noticed there are two different comb styles on the 1924s?

One has a completely curved comb....The other is the same, except the cresent of the curve is flat.
    image.jpg
I believe these flat teeth were later than the rounded teeth...
I also have the first version and on that one from 1909 the teeth are more like the 1914...
    image.jpg

So I've noticed several things about these different combs and would like to share my opinions and hear your experiences aswell...

    1. The flat comb is more aggressive...It's also smooth....So it's very aggressive but also very much in a good way!
    2. The completely curved comb is an aggressive razor, staying true to the 1924 attributes...But not quite as aggressive as the flat comb...In fact, I noticed I could race around with reckless abandon with no fear of cutting myself...I'm sure much of this was a false sense of security...lol....as it's still a 1924...}8>))
    3. The original 1909 ER shovelhead with the 1914 looking comb is as aggressive as the 1924 with the flat comb only even more smooth...I think other factors come to bear in this...The handle is hollow to hold the blade strop device...There for the weight is on the head...And the razor being light makes it a fast lite shaver...

Anyway....Have you guys noticed the different combs? I believe the original 1909 comb was borrowed for the 1914 since it came 5 years earlier...and the curved comb came around 1919....Just a guess...I've seen some 1915s and they are exactly like the 1909...And the 1919 ones I've seen were just like the 1924s with the added neck to attach the head to the handle...some had the curved comb but I saw one with a flat comb....Soooo I'm thinking they went with the flat comb shortly before the 1925 patent, where the handle screws right into the head. There are some transitional models probably...

I think all variations of this wonderful design are fantastic...and I love each of their slightly different personalities...

    Thoughts?

Being a noob to the 1924 and also shopping around for one, I'll be looking into these variations and might have to buy them all now.

Great details on the 1924 variations. Thanks for the info.
Had to check both of my 1924.
Both of them are the curved teeth.
One of my favourite all time razors. The discovery of the shim was a bonus.

I suspect that the two other variants are more difficult to find - particularly the #3 = 1909.

Flat toothers aren't hard to find, show up on eBay with some frequency. 1909s are another matter.

You either like this Razor or you dislike it. I do like it, and by not rushing got a Shave as good as any I have had with the likes of the General.
