Friday June 16 - today's shave brought to you by Jeeves of Hudson Street

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 )
30DC LE brush in natural maple with Cashmere knot
Jeeves of Hudson Street Turkish Bath
    Alum

A two pass BBS today without any issues.

I am not a great connoisseur of scents, so all I can say is that Turkish Bath smells of a wonderful mixture of exotic Middle Eastern-type spices. I really enjoyed the scent. The performance itself was typical Jeeves of Hudson Street - a very high quality tallow shaving soap. All the slickness, slip, glide, cushion and protection needed during the shave and a great soft skin feeling afterwards. I didn't bother with any postshave products today and have not felt the lack.

    Have a great Friday!

That is a beautiful razor Keith, I'm glad you got the edge back into shape!
The cap looks a little crooked, but the blade seems to be sitting well. I don't know if that would affect the shave or not.
I may have said it before, But that JR is gorgeous!
Thats is a very cool razor Brian, to think of a tool that is over 200 years old and still capable of getting the job done!
    Awesome president, Doug!

I've been really jonesing for an OC shave so yesterday I decided switch my focus for a week and use the Gillette New SC instead of the Milord. Both the New SC and the 7O'C SS are members of The Dream Team, and when you have a dream team pairing you know you are in for an epic shave. Of course they did not disappoint. The New loaded with the 7O'C SS glided across my face without a hint of harshness or tugging, the lather was wiped away and the whiskers were gone. Upon inspection during my final rinse there was not a hint of stubble to be found. The only fitting end to such a magnificent shave was a splash of Fine Platinum. Happy Friday, and have a great weekend everyone!

    Aftershave: Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet

My first try of a Wholly Kaw soap and I'm very impressed. This is their vegan formula and it lathered easily, it was very slick and offered great protection. The scent is very nice, more floral than anything else I have but it's pleasant. Three passes with the Chimera for a DFS. Have a great day folks!

I guess MdC is the one soap that doesn't have much fear for The Destroyer, LOL

FullSizeRender.jpg I got my Shavey Award from @Drygulch for my first straight shave, along with a challenge. Oh, it's on like Donkey Kong, brother! (I can still say that if I never really played donkey Kong, right? Because it's just... oh never mind.) Anyway, much to the chagrin and displeasure of my wife, this summer I'll be trying the dark side with straights and shavettes courtesy of @Keithmax and @RyX as well. Nice knowin' ya fellas!

It sure made a ton of lather with a short load time. I bet the Destroyer would take its toll on MdC if used consistently.

My Bride and I arrived home safely from our trip to England and Wales yesterday. We had a blast, but it's good to be home. I'll post a photo or two soon. I occasionally popped in on the 30DC thread while I was away, and it's moving along at an amazing pace!

While traveling, I used a Trac II razor since DE blades are not allowed in carry-on luggage. I swapped cartridges after three or four days, and they have been working great for me. My two-pass shaves are about as close with the Trac II as with a DE. I've used it both with Kiss My Face (applied brushless) and with a LaToja shave stick (face lathered with a brush). Using KMF brushless was mostly an experiment to see how it would work. However, it's more satisfying, for sure, to shave with a brush and soap, and it doesn't take much extra time.

I highly recommend LaToja shave soap. It makes a creamy, protective lather, and it's a steal at $5 per stick. I pressed what was left of my LaToja stick in a tin this morning, and I'll try to use it up over the next few days.

So, back to my normal DE shaves this morning. Two passes and a few touch-ups with the New SC, and I'm near BBS.

Happy early Father's Day to all the Dads here!

Beautiful pic...and the SOTD is not to shabby either.

Be sure she knows I sent a brush is all.....
(My original plan was to send you a Stivette kit.... but it got left out of the box. She does not need to know that part.)
