  1. It looks like I need to start carving holes behind my mirror. Nice setup!
  2. Very cool storage setup. Now I don't fell so bad about my shaving inventory.

  3. Well said, good sir!
  4. You may have posted it already, but what are the hooks that you are using to hang the razors?
  5. Wow! I'm quite jealous!!

It is always nice to get home at the end of the week, and last night was no exception. I have a buddy who was just in London, and picked me up a little something. Thanks @Bama Samurai ! I hadn't used DR soap before, and it is a good one. It bursts to life quickly, doesn't need a lot of water to get where it needs to be, and has a good slick lather. I am bad at describing scents, but the Arlington scent is what I would call a lighter cologne, kind of a citrus and light wood or maybe fougere type. I liked it, but more importantly my wife did too.

Whenever I use this razor I know I am going to have a good shave, because I have to take my time with it. Or at least I do take my time with it, because I don't want to find out the hard way what that spike could do to my beautiful face if I didn't. So four careful passes later I came out wonderfully BBS'd. Have a good Saturday everyone.
  7. So we have a challenge over on the Custom Title thread. And go....
  8. Belt hangers from Home Depot. They are perfect, and you can hang razors 2 deep on them. I think they are like 6 or 8 bucks a piece.
  9. Whats on the other side of that wall? If it was framed out with a false wall using 2X6 or bigger you could triple your storage space. Just saying...
  10. Hello Face! Stopping by to visit? We here at The 30 Day Crew would be pleased to have you join in on the fun. I could do the cyber-stalker thing and read your previous post but that's looking into the past. This thread is about The Future! Looking to improve your Shave Game?
  11. Unfortunately it's a real wall, and my wife's closet is on the other side, so that's a no go. :angry017:
  12. So I am as caught up on this thread as I am going to get. I have some Shave pics I haven't posted yet. Still not using a straight, due to not having any feeling in my left index finger.

  13. Thanks for the welcome! I'm somewhat of a stalker...and a few comments/posts along the way. Without a doubt, I need to improve my game! I've only been at this whole DE thang for a few months. I'm afraid I might have caught "the bug"...you know...RAD... I don't have many, but I've been on the hunt (just don't tell my wife, mmmmmkay?) ;)

    Blade: Personna twin
    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Arko Cool shave cream
Post: Witch hazel, Country Club Sweet Water aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Trying to finish up some samples and small containers. Today's cream and splash are on that list. Pretty nice shave earlier. I squeezed some cream straight into the soaked boar brush and vigorously face lathered into some excellent cream. The last lather from this Arko cream was sub-par but today's made up for it. One deliberate WTG pass followed by touch-up is all I needed. Finished with some Country Club Sweet Water. I'm working on finishing these off.

Nice blades in the L1. Thanks again to @Screwtape. Have a great day!

  15. Part of the reason I haven't been on much is that my wife has been out of town. I kept both kids alive, and the house mostly intact. We are glad she is back. That picture is Juliet on spagetti night. Can't believe she is 18 months already. I figured this thread likes kid pics.
  16. I'll second that.

  17. Saturday June 17 - the alpha and omega of soaps?

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
30DC LE brush Maple / Cashmere knot
    Omega Eucalyptus soap
    Alum

I went out of alphabetical order today and tried my tub of Omega soap. It is the sole soap offering by the purveyor of Italian brushes. The soap is one of those soft Italian croaps and is advertised as containing eucalyptus oil. I don’t know what else might be in it as I find that that once a soap contains eucalyptus everything else that might provide a scent disappears into the undergrowth. In the tub, this soap has a fairly strong scent of, well, eucalyptus; in the lather the scent is considerably milder but still resembles, uhmm, eucalyptus.

It's a good soap, especially if you like the scent of eucalyptus. A little bit on a damp brush whipped up a good bowl of lather. Shave performance was fine and it left my skin feeling clean and smooth afterwards.

Two passes to a very near BBS - just a couple of patches on my lower neck that weren't as clean as they could be. Mr. Alum was silent.

Hope everybody is off to the start of a good weekend!
  18. Welcome back to the world Charlie. Good to hear you and your wife had a great time.
