The Bro Code is in full effect here. If you caught any of last months MAYhem, or The Shavey Awards, there was a category for just this eventuality.
If you Significant Other becomes a wet shaver then hobby purchases become household expenses. Then there's the "Worst Case Scenario" where you off handedly mention wanting to learn to shave with a straight razor by traveling to North Korea. This works best while antique store or auction site shopping. She'll prefer the new-to-you vintage DE over the other choices.
The super secret double deep medicine cabinet plans are available for download. Not too big of a project if HER closet is a big walk-in type.

    June 16 - Klar Kabinett

    Merkur 34C
    PolSilver Super Iridium(day 3)
    Jason's 30DC brush
    DIY PSO
    Klar Kabinett soap
    Alum/Thayers/AOS PSB

Today was my planned trip to Pasteur's Pharmacy and I wanted to try all I can. I wasn't sure if they carried this or not.

This soap has a mild scent I think or rose. It had a clean light scent that I liked a lot. This lather built up quick and beautifully thick and slick. In all, it is an enjoyable soap. I will have a lot to say(no shocker there) about my trip to Pasteur's in another thread. All I will say is that Klar is there but I could not find this soap. I found a Klar Seifen only.

The Klar Kabinett had all the attributes I liked in it being a thick , slick dense lather that was pretty quick to form. From what I read this soap is very affordable and is sold in 500 gr. bricks.

Thank you whomever added this soap to the box. I really enjoyed it.

I must have did a poor job with my technique because the alum stung. I have a feeling I kept the blade at too steep of an angle and was plowing the hair off instead of sheering it.

A profound observation. Suitable for Neal to include in future 30DC thread intros?

Welcome home, Jim. I hope you have a restful weekend with the family.

You have a very nice travel shave kit. Super Speeds rock, and 12 shaves on a Voskhod is amazing!

Thanks for the inspiration, Randy. It's a fry cry from reality, and that's what makes it so funny. I'll leave it up until I start missing my luminous diver watch.

Thanks Doug. I blame Randy. :happy097:

Clint, great set up today! Does the OneBlade use Feather SE blades or just one side of a DE blade? I thought you mentioned that it uses GEM and Feather blades in an earlier post, so I'm confused.

I'm a bit OCD, so a normal person wouln't think to comb out a horsehair brush, but they do have a reputation for tangling. It just cracked me up that it tore up that cheap comb. Moral of the story: "don't buy a cheap comb."

In other news, I liked shaving with the aristocrat so much I am sending it out to get new 18K gold plating to make it look like the day it was born and make it the star of the show! Thanks again for hooking me up on both of these awesome items.

June 17 - PIF in use!!

    Merkur 34C
    PolSilver Super Iridium (day 4)
    Dark Chocolate (JR#148) brush
    DIY PSO
    Oleo Soapworks Musk soap
    Alum/Thayers/AOS PSB

Having returned with a bunch of goodies from Pasteur's, I decided I would hold off on those until I have tried a soap that was PIFed to me, Oleo Soapworks Musk. Not ever having used it, I got my scuttle ready and pressed a demitasse spoon's worth into it. To me, this soap took a good amount of water and made a nicely thick and slick lather. It went on great. The scent was medium to light. I did not smell a musky dark scent but instead a great rich scent. It warm warm like vanilla and caramel from a great candy maker. Very pleasing. 3 passes yielded a DFS. Had to run today so did not have time to chase the baby. Did a great job with technique I feel since the alum was silent!

    Really enjoyed this soap.

    Thank you Shavewizard420!!!
