I like that guard a lot. What stops it from dulling the edge when you put it over the blade?

Now I am NOT a picture guy. To be honest some of your guys pictures have intimidated me as I know I do not have a artistic eye. But not to be left out here I go.

    Razor: Schick Injector Type G
    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Soap: Mystic Water Lilac Stick
Brush: Maseto Shaving 30mm fan knot, AKA Lather Hog
Post Shave: Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

I just got the MW yesterday and had a hard time trying to decide which new soap I wanted to use. So many soaps, so little time.

Started off by letting the brush soak while I was in the shower. Applied soap straight to face after dipping the stick in the water. Squeezed the water from the brush. Though as I discovered later apparently to much water. Then set out to face lather. The soap lathered okay but really didn't bloomed like I thought it should have. It was to thick. Dipped the brush tip in some water and tried again on the lather. Boy oh boy did it bloom this time. I had lather all over. It started out a little thin and on the runny side but as I worked it it thickened up quite nicely. Now this is saying something as I used my lather hog of a brush. To test out new soaps I use my Maseto 30mm. If a soap lathers with it I can get any brush to lather. Did 3 passes with the razor, WTG, ATG & XTG. I did not have to go back to the soap for more just used what was in the brush. Finished off with a cold water rinse then some Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel.

End results: Good Shave. I liked it. I now smell like an English Rose Garden

With such a great photo you should post pics more often. MW soaps work great as sticks.

    Love that attitude. BULLY!!

Beat me to it. No need to change cars to make it easier to park. Learn to park a bus and you can park anything!

    Is that an Omega 48?

BULLY!!! Shave sticks rock!! Nice pic too.

    Wooo
Great shave with no irritation today first use of a Bic Platinum chrome blade and I put it to work too I've been sick this weekend so there was about two full days of growth and the Bic handled it just fine. Also not even a twinge from the Alum Block today.
Also here's a happy Father's Day from our family to yours

June 18 - Time for some Italian Soap!

    Merkur 34C
    PolSilver Super Iridium (day 5)
    Jason's 30DC brush
    DIY PSO
    PannaCrema Verde
    Alum/Thayers/Stirling EM Balm

Being Father's Day, I decided to grab from my Pasteur's visit a reknown soap, PannaCrema. I could not afford more than one and so chose the Verde scent. The site describes it well all I can say is that it is on the lighter side and wonderful. Damp brush and a few drops on the soap and it loaded within 30 seconds with a ton of soap. I whipped up a glorious thick and cushiony lather that was very good in slickness and used this for the first pass. Each pass I would add some more water and it took it no problem. In the end it was an excellent soap, great slickness and top thickness and cushion. It took a total of 4 passes because ,I think, the blade was dulling and should have been replaced. The last pass I did with the Rockwell 6C/Rockwell blade. This razor felt much better with this soap to me. Alum was light in sting/tingle. For an old blade, it was an epic shave. BBS was achieved. Post shave felt great but I tend to like insurance so I applied some Stirling Executive Man Balm. I need to remember this is not Nivea and need much, much less. I had to work it in otherwise I would have had a white face like it was coated in cheap paint. Yeah, I overdid the Balm. Face Definitely feels great.

This is choice soap. I can see why it is so loved.

Now for a day with my daughter, father and father in-law.

Sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon. This video has it all: a Chinese restaurant, duck, and a sharp blade that could be used for a shave.

Happy honorary Father's Day, Fuzzy. :)

    Father's Day

Happy Fathers's Day to all the Dads, Grandads, and Men on the 30DC from my Bride and me (on a very windy day in Avebury, England). Avebury is near Stonehenge and also has a stone circle.

Almost forgot...the shave...Gillette New SC, Feather (2), JR #160, LaToja, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, and Fine L'Orange Noir. Two passes and near BBS results. After a few weeks of using the Trac II, I find that I have to re-focus on riding the cap with my DE. It's amazing how fast bad habits in technique can develop.

I went to the mailbox today and found a puck of Dirty Deeds Vanilla Sandalwood soap from Adam. It smells fantastic, and I look forward to using it!
    :thanks:

    Happy Father's Day!

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

    June 18 - SE Sunday

Supply Provision Single Edge injector / Personna (? )
30DC LE brush in Maple with Cashmere knot
    Klar Seifen Klassik soap
    Alum

It wasn't going to be an SE Sunday, but after I lathered up, I grabbed my Rockwell 6s, removed the protective leather head cover ... and found there was no blade in the razor. Rather than root through the cupboard for a new blade, I grabbed the loaded injector sitting in the next slot.

The only complaint I have about the Klar soap is that it comes in a tin the same diameter and depth as the small puck. This makes loading any brush somewhat messy and using a big one impossible. That's a very minor complaint, however, about a great luxury vegan soap. The scent is a strongly botanical herb and flower smell. In some ways it reminds me of the Austrian Speick soap. The soap is very hard, being triple milled, but loads quickly and easily into a damp synthetic brush. Based on the usage marks that left (none), I would guess the smallish puck would last me for a minimum of six months of daily use. Lather was creamy and plentiful. Slip, glide, protection and postshave face feel rivalled any of the top tallow soaps I've used -- excellent performance, especially for a non-tallow vegan soap.

I think Klar truly is one of the great European luxury soaps. I can see why the company has been in business since 1840.

It was an enjoyable shave this morning, although I think the blade is starting to show signs of wear. I have lost track of how many shaves are on this Personna injector blade but it's probably time it hit the blade bank.

    Happy Father's Day everybody!
