Since I never used any Treet blades and @Linuxguile was kind enough to send me four different ones. I thought that I'd like to do a review on my experiences on them. I will pick one each of the following types of razors to use for each blade. I decided on keeping it to three shaves each because sometimes you never know what the fourth shave will be like. And of course, these will be my opinions only, as each person has different opinions......

    - Gillette TTO (adjustable or not)
    - Open Comb (new or old style)
    - Closed Comb (tech or DE89)

This picture shows which Treet blades I will use, and will post my reviews when I have completed the three shaves from each blade.

Looking forward to your review. I've been curious about Treet blades but since I've just recently found my go to blade (7 o'clock yellows), the desire to want to try other blades has subsided. Good luck!

If the top left Treet is a black carbon, I think you will like it.

First blade used, Treet Carbon. The razors picked were:

    - Gillette Black Handle Flair Tip (Y4)
    - Gillette WWII Tech
    - Gillette New Short Comb/Scotch & Stowe Handle

For this blade, it really isn't necessary to break it down to each razor. Every razor performed great and pretty much the same. Two passes with very little touch up was all that was needed for three excellent BBS shaves. This blade is sharp and very smooth. This will be one blade I will have to stock up on. I'm sure I could get more shaves from it, so I'm saving it for another razor or two to see how long it will go.

It was my first time using a carbon DE blade, since I guess when I was a kid using my Dad's Flair Tip back in the early '70's. This is one smooth blade.

I saw maybe six different Treets at Tryablade the other day. One I think had an eagle or hawk or something.

Carbon SE blades are smoother to me. I am not surprised to see the carbon SE blades are too. Do you dry them after use?

Yeah, don't want no rust. Next ones will be the Silver carbon blades.

When I did my initial blade evaluation I ended up ranking the Treet Platinum in the middle of the pack. That was the only Treet blade I tried. It certainly worked but I still prefer Russian blades for the most part.

I also like Russian blades, but these Treet carbon blades, for me anyway, are smoother and just feel better while shaving. Just about as smooth as my preferred blade, the Israeli Personna Stainless Steel.

I"ve tried all of the ones shown and like all except the New Steel. But you might love them, it's the YMMV thing ya know.

I have enough blades already in my inventory to last (using one blade a week) for more than 30 years. I'm 69 now - so its a race to see if I or the blades run out first.

Well, if you start feeling shaky, switch to one a day.

Second blade used was the Treet Silver Carbon. Razors used:

    - Gillette Slim (L2)
    - DE89/Custom Heavy Handle
    - Gillette New Long Comb

All shaves pretty much the same results except for feeling the blade more with the New LC. Overall it's a good blade and one that shaves very well. For all three shaves I got very smooth BBS shaves with two passes and various types of touch ups.

Treet New Steel used in the following razors......

    - Gillette Blue Flair Tip (E1)
    - Gillette Post War Gold Tech
    - Gillette Bostonian (Canada)

Despite the Blue Tip and Gold Tech being mild razors, I still managed BBS shaves. The Bostonian being more aggressive, gave me the best shave, even though the blade was on it's third shave. All were done with two passes and some touch up, but just a hint of touch up was used with the Bostonian.

    I have used:

    Treet Black Carbon DE
    Treet Platinum DE
    Treet Classic Carbon DE
    Treet Carbon SE (vintage)

They are all really good blades. The DE blades are Pakistani while the SE blades were produced by American Safety Razor. I think Treets are definitely underrated.

Ok, time for my review of the Treet Platinum blade. Razors used:

    - Gillette Fatboy (G3)
    - Gillette 1943 WWII Army Tech
    - Gillette Old Style/Scotch & Stowe Handle
    (Delta Echo Refinished)

All shaves were really good, with just slight irritation with the Old Style. BBS shaves with every razor and very smooth. Two passes with some touch up for every shave. A very good blade overall, also another one that I would stock up on.

Now for my rankings on the four Treet blades, and these are just my opinions, knowing that everyone who has used these blades have their own experiences of them.

#1 - Treet Carbon Blade (Black Beauty): This blade is excellent, the smoothest and most comfortable of the lot. Shaves were excellent with stubble not appearing for a long time. This blade will always be in my Den when ever possible. It also rivals my favorite blade, the Israeli Personna Stainless Steel in performance. If these two were the only blades I had, that's all I'd need.

#2 - Treet Platinum Blade: Overall, this is also an excellent blade and is a very close second. It also gave me shaves with stubble taking a long time to appear. The only difference with this and the Treet Black, is that the Treet Black is a bit smoother and I had some slight irritation on my last shave with it, but just a touch.

#3 & #4 - Treet Silver Carbon & New Steel Blades: I am putting these two together because I really couldn't distinguish the difference between them. Both worked good, gave me BBS shaves like the others, but didn't feel as smooth or sharp as the two other ones. Stubble would appear sooner than the other two. Still, they performed good and I wouldn't throw them away if given to me.
