well, it appears that "Soap/Cream" has returned to a comfortable lead in the survey, but I've seen crazy things happen, like when Alberto Salazar "stole" a victory in the NYC Marathon many years ago by literally sneaking past the leader right at the end.

21 June 2017 Wombat Wednesday Blade Focus Shave

Pre: A lotta HOT water, some soap off the puck and a hot towel
    Razor: 1966 Schick Krona
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Brush: Omega 10098
    Soap: Razorock XXX
Post: Hot/Cold rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Canoe by Dana

Today, I stayed with Italian shaving soap and pulled Razorock XXX out of the vanity. Bloomed it and sicced the big Italian boar on it. After some swirling, got a copious, slick, protective lather that made the weekday stubble stand at attention.
The Krona/Shark combo did another outstanding job! 2.5 passes and the baby strolled in and sat right down.
I can usually tell on Wednesday how a blade is gonna be. The Shark is hanging with the GSB no problem.
Splashed on some Canoe, walked the puppy and headed to work.
Don't forget to hug your Wombat(Fuzzy's excused!)
    'Bye!

    Lime EO enhanced La Toja

    Homemade Lime AS

Last night I took The Soap Destroyer to the La Toja once again. Got a nice heavy load and this time and added a few drops of lime EO to my scuttle and whipped up a very nice limey lather. The New SC and the 7O'C SS performed flawlessly as always. I finished with a spritz of my homemade lime AS and was relaxed and ready for bed. Have a great day everyone!

Post shave shot of the La Toja bowl. We can finally see the bottom of the bowl!

June 21 - Love Amber and Vanilla scents

    Merkur 34C
    Gillette SharpEdge (day 3)
    30DC LE Brush
    DIY PSO
Wet Shaving Products Formula T Black Amber Vanilla
    Alum/Thayers/AOS PSB

Went for another grab at the Pasteur soaps and this time it is WSP Black Amber Vanilla. When my daughter brought it over to me I thought that I wasn't going to like it and I should just humor my daughter. When I took my first sniff I was blown away! This soap has a phenomenal rich and decadent scent. There are notes that mix that kinda call out to a chocolately scent but not quite. I think the way the Black Amber mixes with the Vanilla it reminds me of super rich brownies. I also think that this scent should be what bourbon or brandy should smell like (unfortunately, I have never had either so I cannot compare them. this is what I would think it should smell like.) It is rich and resinous and smooth. I just loved it! Trying to find it on the website and it is only found on the Rustic section. To my surprise, this is a limited edition soap made in the Formula T base!! Wow, what luck!! The website describes the scent as
. I am fortunate enough to grab this in the Tallow version. After trying a Rustic vegan soap from WSP and my love affair with tallow soaps, I purchased it.

The lather today was rich, decadent and thick. This soap loves water and like yesterday, flooding it with water will still make lather. I do not know if I could over water this soap. It shines like chrome on a fifties car yet still maintains good body in the lather. I did a 30 second load which ended up being too much. Copious amounts of lather were made eliciting a delicious scent even more. I did 4 passes, not because I needed it but the soap was so good I wanted to make sure I had a shave to match the soap. BBS achieved. Even where lather was removed, I felt there was adequate slickness remaining to do a touch up if needed. None was necessary. Post shave felt good but my face tends to do better with a balm so I applied it anyway. I think it is now 2.5 hours later and once in a while I can notice a very faint recollection of the scent still lingering. YSL L'Homme paired nicely with it to prepare me for an awesome day.

    All the best everyone.

And Chris, all the best with your eye. Hope you heal up quickly.

Day 5 of the Jr focus, first day with a Sharp Star in it. Was going to put in a Voskhod, but realized the tuck on the rack was empty and didn't want to have to bother digging one out of the bin. Lots of Sharp Star talk last night, and I was going to run this blade through this razor anyway, so just changed the order a bit.
This soap just arrived yesterday, and I've been really excited about it as I absolutely love the AS. I've seen a couple of reviews saying that you don't need to load as much as usual...that it is very thirsty... I ignored the reviews and loaded my usual amount. I made the mistake of face lathering, as I should have bowl lathered for the first usage. On my face at first I would describe the texture as underwatered drywall mud. This soap took a lot of water, more than I'd ever used. It was still very thick when I started. It didn't help that I used my most 'latherhoggy' brush. The reviews I read were bang on- you don't need as much product and it is incredibly thirsty. It smells exactly like the AS, which is a good thing. Man was it thick and slick. Great soap.
3 passes later to a DFS. Sharp Star did a nice job again. Am smelling great and off to face the day.
    Have a great day all!

Nice writeup. I found it just as you did. I had a sample from Will of Cool in my last shipment. This is a great B&M addition and love the new line. Classic was good in scent but I really loved Cool the most followed by Spice. Soap makes excellent lather. While At Pasteur's, I too grabbed a jar.
