I really like the Aristocrat Jr, just a great shaver IMO. Your razor looks to be in great shape.

Man those 30DC LE brushes look great! Mine should be hitting the mailbox any day now!
Your woman is in town and you used a shave soap called "Tight Buns" ... Have a good night, Keith!
    A Fine photo. Clint! ;)
This is how I got my Faux Tortoiseshell too! (Thanks again for the tip, Clint)
Geez, If I got even 10 shaves out of a blade .. Most of my blades would be passed to my son.
One can't complain about pretty much the same awesome shaves every day!

Thank you, Clint! I used to prefer Fine Platinum to Fresh Vetiver, but honestly now, I think that has swapped.

It is in great shape, Jim. Not a scratch on it. Anything that shows up on the photos is just soap residue I didn't clean well enough. Looked absolutely unused after I gave it a Scrubbing Bubbles bath and wipe. Paid $12 Canadian (about $9 USD) in a small town antique store; thought I was buying an English Rocket until I looked it up.

Watched the video. Itched like mad last night, so I'm going to give it a go. I don't think we have Boudreaux's Butt Paste in Canada, so I'll have to go with one of our not-so-cleverly named brands here. Sounds like Zinc Oxide is what to look for. Thanks, Andrew.

My favorite Fine Aftershaves are Platinum, L'Orange Noir, and Fresh Vetiver. I find all three to be very versatile and pair well with a wide variety of soaps.

What an amazing shave last night. I absolutely love the scent of Don Marco. And the performance of the new "Super" soap base with lanolin is out of this world. If you love citrus, you have to try Don Marco. Have a great weekend everyone!

    And as always, TGIF!

Some of these comparisons are off. Tabac is comparing the refill. Stirling is not comparing the refill but the full tub. Route 66 price includes shipping. Others do not.

    Friday June 23 - riding Route 66

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 )
    30DC LE Cashmere Maple brush
    Route 66 Lavender Woods
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent Aftershave

This was my introduction to Route 66. Lavender Woods had a good strong smell both in the tub and in the lather of lavender with hints of other scents mixed in to give a bit of a woodsy feel. My keen intellect tells me that that was the cedar and pine listed in the description.

It was easy to lather, protective, and left a soft skin feel afterwards, probably from the lanolin. Overall another excellent soap; I can see why Route 66 gets good reviews from many members of the Crew.

I did two passes to a DFS, heard no complaints today from Mr. Alum, and slapped on the AS without feeling any alcohol burn.

And Friday is off to a good start!

It's still pretty accurate on a cost per gram basis on Stirling using the refill. Really the refill was used for soaps such as MWF, Tabac and C&S that have a comparatively very high cost containers that in some cases cost many times more than the soap. Most artisan soaps use plastic and don't have the option of refill pucks.

The big factor that is almost impossible to factor is the water content of the soap at the time of purchase. Soaps like Arko, Williams, Tabac and MdC have very little water weight at the time of purchase. From personal experience this is not the case with many artisan soaps. This is also a big reason that the soaps like the ones mentioned above last so long.
