Yup, I grated it. I think it helps the Brut get into the soap easier. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Yup I would agree. Grating and letting it sit tones down the natural scent also. Works with Arko too I hear.
It's 11:25 Tuesday night here in Western Oregon and my face is still smooth after my shave with the Williams this afternoon. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
I'll probably be shaving in the evening myself tomorrow since my shave was in the afternoon today. My 55 Red Tip does a great job with a shimmed Gillette Yellow loaded. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
I didn't get around to shaving yesterday so I thought I better do it this morning. Think I'll use my Maggard's synthetic brush with the Williams since it should be soft enough after soaking it and the brush should pick it up with no problem. Clayton
I refer you to this thread and highly recommend the described technique. Enjoy. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-vintage-williams-project.45842/
This is the lather that I had left over after my 2nd pass. The synthetic brush did whip up a full bowl of lather, compared to my Semogue that just eats it. I do like the synthetic and I did get another comfortable smooth shave from the Williams. However I do think that the Boar makes a denser more protective lather because it has more backbone and can pick up more soap from the puck. The lather I got this morning was a little Airey as you can see from the bubbles, the lather I got on Tuesday looked more like MWF shaving soap after whipping it up with the Semogue. No complaints I still got a great shave this morning. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Williams is slick and just good stuff even when it looks a bit off. I love the lather from my synthetics. Nothing compares to Williams and a boar though.....well maybe horse.
I'll be looking forward to using my Williams with the classic brushes I purchased since I had the Burma Shave(and that is no slight against Burma Shave brushes).
I've thought about trying a horse hair brush. How do they compare to a Boar brush?. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
