1. No idea. I met a lady and gentleman today that were in their 90's. She didn't remember a lot about the shaving tools, and he was getting senile. One of the things she was mentioning while I was perusing their booth was that she was getting to the point where she needed help, and taking care of him was getting to be very hard; she'd have to start looking for better care for him. Apparently just this morning, he wandered off from the booth and had to be tracked down. (he's 95, she's 92)

I don't think either of my grandfathers used aftershave, and I know my father didn't use much. He may even still have some of the Old Spice my brother and I would buy him when we were much younger - I need to ask. If he still has them, maybe I'll find a way to pass them along :)
  2. *grumble*

This reminded me that I need to go pick up a small can of shave goo for a 'just in case'.

  8. I vaguely remember my Grandpa trying Barbasol but not liking it very much. He used a brush, a Valet Autostrop and Noxzema lather cream for many years. Eventually because of his age he switched to an electric. My Dad never used Barbasol, to the best of my recollection. He too was a traditional wetshaver for a long time, but when he developed Alzheimer's he was advised by our GP to switch to an electric. He doesn't enjoy it but he uses it every day. As far as aftershave is concerned, he doesn't use any.
  9. Unmarked but it certainly smells of Barbasol.[IMG]

  10. I may have to get another can of the Arctic Chill before summers over. The menthol in it felt pretty good even though it wasn't a freeze your face off menthol blast. Right now I've got the yellow can under the sink for those mornings when I'm running late and need a quick one pass shave.

  15. Okay - I picked up a can of Arctic Chill. I'll give it a try this weekend; I know I'll be having a couple of long hot days.

  16. Question for any Barbasol fans out there(like me, although I'm not going to answer my own question, chuk yuk yuk). Which Barbasol do you find more cooling-Arctic Chill or Pacific Rush?

  18. I don't really find Pacific Rush cooling at all. It just has the scent of the aftershave. Arctic Chill has some menthol, yes, but I never found it all that cooling either to be honest. It's like, there's enough menthol there to notice, but that's about it. It's a far cry from the chill you get from Proraso/CO Bigelow.

  19. I have to go to Walmart to get some Alpine Extreme Body Wash today, I'll check out what they have for Barbasol while I'm there. Hopefully they have a can of the Arctic Chill, it's popular though around here.

  20. I might do a Barbasol razor shave tonight. I usually only use carts/disposable for head shaves . Temptation temptation lol. It did excellent on the head shave.
