    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 injector
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Lather: Country Club Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Fine shave a few minutes ago. This Cahaba Blues soap was one of my first shaving soaps. My wife bought it for me after I mentioned that Country Club for Men was based out of our hometown in Birmingham, Alabama. She bought a few things for me for Christmas that year and ended up meeting the owner, Kevin. Country Club was a second job for him. I think he's taking a break from making any products right now, which is a shame as they are top-notch. I love this soap and finally have a good aftershave to pair it with. The Jeeves Tobacco Bay Leaf is the scent of the previous Velvet Jacket title. Beautiful tobacco scent. Pairs great with Cahaba Blues.

Terrific shave overall. Not on my focus whatsoever, but who's counting? Have a great evening!

I'm glad you were there to help and that you took action. That could have had a very unhappy ending.

    Oh, and great pic!

Is it Old Spice spicy more so than Christmas potpourri spicy? I held off because it sounded more like a holiday gourmand. I don't really care much for strong clove/nutmeg scents in a soap.

Cool is one way to put it. For those of you who aren't familiar with the area, the Ottawa river, and the various streams in the area, are often in the low 50's in the height of summer. (except in the shallows) I love swimming in the river, but it's NOT the kind of river you just stand in and relax, unless you just hate feeling your extremities. I've never been in or around any of the streams that were warmer than the 70's except in the shallows in the sunlight. Still fun to walk through, but you get out regularly to warm your feet. She was likely to end up in trouble very quickly without Doug making that call.

Dunno. My sense of smell is actually a bit challenged, and like most of B&M's upper tier soaps, it's reasonably complex. I just know some scents do it for me and some don't. This fell into the don't category. Could I like it if I stuck with it? Probably, but with so many awesome soups out there I'd rather just trade it for something I love.

Took my son to the bowling center to have a new ball drilled. He took it for a test drive and bowled a 257, then finished with his first perfect game.

I hear you. Seville and Latha Taiga are the only ones that have stuck for me. And I like both of them quite a bit.

The '11 R41 is my favorite DE and was my gateway drug to straights. I traded out the handle for I have a stainless steel handle and it made a lot of difference. Good prep is always important with that razor. Enjoy

Let's talk about prep. I use to think it was very important. Now I don't. I know what @Bama Samurai thinks.....he is not a fan. What does the 30DC find in their daily shave routine? As you better your technique is prep less important? Does it still matter to you?

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
    Alluminati Envy White badger brush
    Kent / MWF soap
    Alum and Clubman VIBR

Every night when I come back to this thread, the end is 3 to 5 pages away from where it was when I left!

I had an excellent shave tonight with The Fat. Gobs of shiny slick lather that was then worked into my face by a lovely dense but pillowy soft badger brush. Then a razor I am completely familiar with after several Focus months to do a fast, efficient, two pass near BBS. No irritation - Mr. Alum kept his mouth shut - and a splash of warming VIBR for a nice energy lift.

I have been doing the upward skin stretch recommended by @Bama Samurai coupled with the downward jaw drop recommended I believe by @clint64 to lay my lower jawline skin tautly along my jawbone. That is letting me get my problem area stubble patch cleaner with my main passes so I wouldn't need to buff the area. I still don't get a perfect BBS with my comfortable "no irritation" two passes, but I am now even closer to it than I was.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
