    Schick E2 & Schick Proline Type B AC Blade [ 2 ]

While the use of this blade calms down the E2 a bit,it is never going to be the Mildest of Razors, nor provide the smoothest of Shaves. However, I can honestly say that today I attained on of my best ever close finish Shaves, with no mishaps.

  2. I love the aggressive feel of my E2. I would never want to tone that down. The shaves from it are smooth as long as the technique is good. I equate the shave with a Gillette OLD. If you do not use solid technique my E2 will let you know about it.

  5. Trust me... I'm just as confused. I got the E2 recently and assumed I'd hate it. Instead, it seemed to be a model of quiet efficiency. OTOH, the G1 that came with it, just like the first one I had, was the one that bit me.

This was with Personna Mini Hair Shaper blades which most people didn't recommend for an E2.

    Definitely a YMMV situation.

    Nivea Men Face Wash
    De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #2
    Gem 1911 Lather Catcher
    CVS SE
    CWR/Alum Bloc
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger

The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #2 badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher with a CVS blade, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  11. Keeping with the thread theme of late, broke out the E2. I find I've really got to pay attention to this razor. It's efficient if handled properly, it's vicious if not. Nice shave.

  12. NO comment about the upside down label from me...

YOu think a lather catch looks good...you should feel the shave!!!
  13. Of course, just another razor on my list.

  14. Alan once gave me a GEM short handle 1912 (Brooklyn), I remember he had named it 'Spike'. He told me, " You have to keep Spike here on a short leash when you take him for a walk, if you don't, he will bite!" :happy102:
  15. More thoughts on the E2. It's 2:00 and my face feels like I just shaved. The shave itself was a practice in concentration watching the angle and pressure. Not as enjoyable as I would like, but the results speak for themselves.
