    10 July 2017 Menthol Monday
    OLD Blade Focus Shave

Pre: Plenty hot water, soap from the puck and a hot towel
    Razor: 1911 Gillette OLD
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Omega 10098
    Soap: Catie's Bubbles "Sunrise"
Post: Hot/Cold rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Proraso Green Lozione Dopobarba

As this is Menthol Monday I broke out Catie's Bubbles "Sunrise". This soap has taken over from my usual staple, Proraso Green/C O Bigelow cream. Smells great, and using the big Italian boar, lathers even better.
The scent really is fantastic. Citrus, spice and this morning I finally could smell some peppermint. Add to that a menthol kick on the second pass and you have a great Monday morning soap.
Second shave with my OLD, first on weekday stubble. The OLD/GSB combo did not disappoint. 2.5 passes of shaving excellence, yielded a near BBS. A little careful J hooking on my lower neck helped things along. Splashed on some Proraso Green A/S and headed off to work.
In the Caf this morning, they had a Pepperoni and Provolone omelette for breakfast.
Great shave and a great breakfast.

Back on focus and working on samples. Finished off the Sweet Water splash sample this morning. The Courage sample is going strong. Great shave overall. The J1 was smooth and efficient. All came together nicely!

I am going back to work this week. My students are back for band activities on Thursday morning. So my time off is essentially over. Oh well, it was great while it lasted! No regrets.

    Have a great day!

Very enjoyable shave this morning. Soap Commander is great stuff, the J1 was smooth and efficient, and the Sweet Water finished it all off nicely.

    Have a great day!

Great photo and good luck with the band this year Perry. My oldest is Editor on the her school's Year Book and they are in Orlando to get everything started. You teachers that have the extra items like band, year book and sports really put in the extra time. Thanks for taking the time and doing this for the next generation.

It is going strong. I would like to see 20 shaves. The Voskhod did pretty well through this point as well, but it fell of at 16. We'll see if the Rapira can keep it going.

    Super-Max Platinum(4)
    Satin Tip The Purest
    Blades Grim "Cinder"

Last shave with this setup. The Super-Max Platinum really lost its edge on its 4th shave. This Aristocrat is a very nice shave and I think I'll have to revisit it again soon with a more premium blade. Have a great day my friends!

Feel way behind the thread after only checking in very occasionally and superficially from the lake this weekend. Have moved a 40s SS, Palmolive Stick, Synthetic brush and Mentholated Balm to the trailer at the lake to be my low-maintenance set up there. Shaved with that set up on Saturday night.

Back on focus today. Day 5 with the NEW, 1st with a Voskhod. As for the brush, I 'transplanted' this knot from the nondescript resin handle it came with. It was just set too shallow. It is now at a depth of 15mm. The handle is one of two '2nds' from the 30DC LE project. It doesn't show it too well in the picture, but the lip below the bulb does not flare down. Instead, it is basically parallel to the ground and creates a really hard to get into crevasse. It will be a pain to clean properly, so I kept it.

My wife was gone early this morning, so out came the Gentleman. The floppiness is gone from the knot now, and I face-lathered a very nice lather. The Voskhod performed well in the NEW and I focussed on skin stretching upward on my jawline again. 3 passes later, I'm near BBS and off to work. This C Lux aftershave pairs nicely with the Gentleman, and I'm off to work.
    Have a great day all!
