First shave of the vacation. I brought:

1965 Gillette Flare Tip with a few Astras
    Gentleman Jon badger brush
    Ginger's Garden Octavia Noir
    Gentleman Jon's Alum Block
    Witchhazel
    Lucky Tiger

Going back to the badger brush made me realize how even more awesome the Omega synthetic I won for best new artist is. Noticed slight difference with the water where we are staying with the lather. And of course the Gillette provided a nice easy shave with almost no feedback from the alum.

Off to drink some bourbon today!

    Happy shaving everyone!

Thanks, Clint. The knot performed more to my liking in it as well.

    30 DC LE Brush update
I received a PM last night that the last brush arrived safely. Shockingly, it doesn't appear that there were any significant shipping issues with any of the 23 shipped brushes. C'est Finis.
So, one more thing before I can put a bow on the project. The shipping was a dollar or two less in many cases than was estimated. After supplies (Can of Marine Urethane, Sandpaper, Bubblewrap Envelopes, etc.) I have a profit of $19 Canadian. $29 actually, but one member gave me $10 extra on purpose and told me to go get a coffee. 2 others paid too much and I refunded the difference.
Anyway, what I was thinking is that I am going to be making a few lathering bowls to match the brushes. One for me and one extra. I thought I would 'raffle' one off to one of the 30DC LE brush owners and just use the extra money to pay for the shipping. If people don't like that idea, no problem, just PM me and I'll probably just donate it to the Den.
PS- no, the bowl will not become an LE:scared003:...

I personally would say don't worry about it. But I like the idea of a chance to get a custom matching bowl too

That's great that they all arrived safe and sound. I'll buy the extra bowl. Just PM me the amount.

Haven't made it yet, Doug! To be honest, I'm still investigating how I want the inside 'agitators' to look. I'm thinking of trying to recess some 1/8" dowel sunk into drilled holes and then sand them rounded. Might just use grooves. Just going to play around a bit. Anyway, I'm in no position to say 'here it is'.
To be honest, I'm not really that comfortable with charging for these (or handles...). I enjoy turning and view it as a hobby. After I've made a few, if you like the look of them, maybe we can have a quick talk about a trade or something. I'm just a little trepidacious about making these for money.

Sounds good. I'll send you a picture of a couple of wooden bowls I have that work well.

Thanks, I'd appreciate the pics. My idea for the dowel came from some of your bowl pics, Doug. You have a few pottery bowls that have nubs or bumps in them, and I thought I'd try to replicate that idea with wood.
