  3. It's been a while since I shaved with my ERN. Very nice shave today. Light touch and lower angle did the trick. Very little noise from the alum. Smooth and clean. :happy036:

  4. Today's shave was with an Old Chopper, that was brought back to life. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave. This Old Wedge Razor is dialed in, and is so smooth that you don't hear, or feel it cutting. The results speak for themselves. BBS results, without any nicks, cuts, or weepers. One of my very favorite razors.

Razor- George Wostenholm & Sons, Celebrated IXL Razor, Barbers Notch Wedge.
    Brush- Semogue 1305 Boar

  9. Today's shave was with an excellent Japanese Razor. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, with minor touch-ups, that left me BBS. No issues, just smoothness. I love these Japanese Razors.

  11. I have a Focus Slim AI, keep at it and soon you will be having wonderful shaves. Remember to use a wet lather and lots of skin stretching. Straights and shavettes have a longer learning curve than DE razors.
  12. I used a Russian Voskhod blade tonight and found it much more forgiving than my previous attempt. Although I may have been much more situational aware also since I felt like I fell asleep in the sun for 8 hours after my first attempt. This time wasn't so bad at all. I did 2 passes WTG and achieved a fine shave.
  13. John Clarke and Son. This has never quite met muster. Today a applied two layers of tape and re-set the bevel, and the 4/8k. Finished on the Arkie. Got a bbs shave, however a little more harsh than I like.

  18. After looking through the microscope, I could see the edge had serrations :angry032: How did this occur :signs002: So I killed the edge and went back through the progression. I now (finally) have a nice fine edge. Tonight's shave went perfectly. Smooth and comfortable.
  19. Tonight's shave was with a trusted Japanese Razor. I had a very sharp, and smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. I had zero issues with this razor. Very well built, and sharp.

    Brush- Vintage German Boar "Oceans"
