The Haul: July 2017

Two Black & White 24mm Maggard synthetic knots took their place in my inventory. I like 'em.

 

Same thing happened to me. I wonder if it is dissolved in something else first, maybe glycerin, it might work.

 

I have considered dissolving them in a minute amount of boiling water.

 

might work if they mix together

 

crushing them into powder may help

The mailman was good to me today. It was Christmas in July.

First I got a Schick E2 with the the movable spring for cleaning and a Schick 66 off of the Bay.


I also got a G1 with a textured head from @John Ruschmeyer.


Then I also got a couple of handles @Jayaruh made for me. I had another G1 head. He also sent me a pack of injector blades. Thanks Jim. Speaking of injector blades, I want to give a shout out to @PLAla for the offer of the pack of Chicks. Thank you sir.


I saved the best for last. I got a whole Schick Type G series from @Karl G. It was a pleasure doing business with you sir.

This is the haul I gave up all shaving acquisitions for the remainder of 2017. The wife has already shown an out for me though. If I find something extra special she will let me get it, but she won't let me live it down.

 

Witch Hazel + H2O...we'll see.

Pulverizing does not work.
So, I poured the witch hazel into a small sauce pan and heated it until they dissolved. Not sure if heating the witch hazel screwed it up, but they did dissolve and mix. Note: did not boil.
I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Had to trash my Witch Hazel. It became a gooey mess!!!!!!!!

I think the Maggard B&W knot looks awesome in that handle. Also Gondolier is a great scent

Curious about those Maggard's Black & White knots. Are they the same ones sold by APShaveCo called Tuxedo? Could be shorter shipping & customs wait if CONUS.

 

Maybe @Jayaruh can give an opinion on these knots.

 

Just picked these 2 up. I know they are supposed to be new's but I dont I don't know much about new's. The nickel one definitly had a longer turned down comb and a larger blade gap than the brass/gold one.

One is a new long comb, the other a new short comb.

 

Not going to win any beauty competitions but not trashed and no bent tines so Im happy.
