My focus this month is four passes. It's almost not necessary with this razor. The fourth pass was silent and I'm BBS

Astra SP. Seems like they give a decent balance of comfort and sharpness, and the price is right.

It's been a rather trying 24 hours gentlemen. Thursday night I got a call from my mom saying that my grandmother, who was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer about a month ago, was being taken to the hospital and wasn't doing very well. I went to see her yesterday afternoon, and it ended up being the last time I would see her as she passed away later that evening.

This morning I had to take one of our dogs to the vet who had an abscess that ruptured last night. Luckily she will be fine after some antibiotics and medication.

Things have settled down a little bit and I was able to get a shave in which I will report shortly.

Just a few minutes ago I completed a shave with the Dirty Deeds shave soap that was sent to me by Adam. I gave it a good twenty second load and it seemed like the brush was saturated. I started to work the lather in my scuttle, adding a little bit of water, and it quickly became a very fluffy airy lather. I tried adding more water and really working the lather but I was never really able to get it to a creamy consistency. During the shave I felt like I was wanting for more slickness. Residual sickness was also lacking for me. Did my normal three passes and ended without irritation or drama. Next time I will try to load more soap and see if I can't get a little bit better performance out of it.

It's Friday and after the day I've hadI need a little pick me up.Have a great weekend my friends.

Sorry for your loss. Remember the good times and tell stories. BTW, is that bowl a Van Der Hagen bowl? It looks just like the bowl that came with my shave set.

Razor: Mongoose B2 w/Hempel Ti Handle
    Blade: Feather (6)
Brush: El Druida Red Heart Chakte Kok/African Blackwood 2 Band Badger
    Soap: Timeless Signature Bay Rum
    A/S: Booster Iced Lime
Bowl: Symmetrical Pottery Dottie Blue & Lt. Purple

I been getting really excellent shaves with the Mongoose B2 this week. All shave have been either BBS or to close to call. The brush is a dream to handle and the soap is working out very well. Today was a 3 pass shave and so little touch up it's not worth mentioning.

Moved on to the red tip today. It had been a while since I'd shaved with a flare tip, and supposedly this is a more aggressive version, but it didn't seem overly aggressive to me. Just a smooth shave. After a few shaves with the red tip I'll try the regular flare tip again for a day and see how it feels now. If it's noticeably less aggressive the red tip, it's going to the back of the den.
