The splash and soap were different to me as well. I liked the soap a lot but the splash just wasn't for me.

I agree that it's not a "fun soap", especially in terms of scent (not a bad scent at all, just very mild). But I always get a nice lather and it provides a good amount of lubrication. Oh, yeah - and it's dirt cheap! Will I buy a refill puck when mine is gone? I don't know....but, maybe!

When I use soaps other than the VDH (still in the VDH bowl), I've been using a plastic bowl that we got for another purpose at the dollar store. We weren't using it anymore, so it got re-purposed. It has some bumps on the bottom which seem to help get a good lather going. Sure, it ain't sexy or classy - but, it works! It's easy to dry off and then it gets tossed into the cabinet below the sink!

I have been visiting my daughter's and their families for three nights and brought one of my favorite razors for the trip. I am focusing on four passes this month and almost broke my focus because this razor provides consistent two pass DFS's. However, after four passes, I am as smooth and irritation free as I've ever been. It's been a great road trip
Heading back home today and will miss my girls and Grandson.

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Jayaruh boar
    Lather: Soap Commander Courage
Post: Witch hazel, Pinaud Clubman aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Pretty good shave today. Still working on using up some samples. This Soap Commander sample of Courage is going strong. This is shave six with the sample and it doesn't look like it's degraded at all. Great soap. The Featherweight did okay today. Didn't feel as comfortable as my past few shaves. Still good results. Some witch hazel was followed by a splash of Clubman that is also a sample.

    Have a great weekend!

    Razor: Schick L1 Injector
    Blade: Personna (2)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: Simpsons Luxury

Second shave with the L1. This time I turned to the TARDIS of Lather- the Simpsons Luxury Cream. Plenty of great lather and a DFS with no issues.

I stuck with my setup today. I tried something different on the mustache. I with WTG then XTG from nose to cheek and then a sort of diagonal pass from cheek to nose. That was more comfortable and gave pretty close shave.
