@Linuxguile , I join in with those who are late in finding out what happened. My best wishes to you and your family, sorry for the loss.

Still trying to catch up on the thread. I am back to straights, and my soap rotation, with the exception that I am using TSD Yin Yang on every other shave, trying to use it up. Have been using my 30DCLE brush with the monster 10098 boar. It lathers like a beast and uses a lot of soap. No worries, I still have 25 tubs of soap. (Going to trade off my Awesometown soap as soon as I can.) have been doing more of 3.5 pass shaves rather than four. Following @Keithmax's advice and focusing on beard reduction rather than getting myself clean shaven. Very little irritation and great results.

    Last week's shaves:

Monday July 10th: Dubl Duck Special #1.

:signs011: I can get a great shave from all types of razors but straights are consistently the kindest to my skin.

    :happy096:
When I started I just shaved my cheeks and finished the shave with a DE or SE. I went a little farther each shave until I could do the entire shave with a straight. Great post.

Focusing on beard reduction and not trying to get BBS in 2 or 3 passes was a revaltion for me.

Day 10 with the NEW focus, 3rd day with this blade. Face lathered a nice Gin and Tonic lather and went to town on a pleasant 3 pass shave. Still focussing on skin stretching upward, and have passed on any touch up to truly judge a difference. I believe it is making a difference. A nice DFS finished off with the excellent Cool.
Will be starting vacation tomorrow. Will be at the lake shaving with my Trailer set up (40s SS, Palmolive Stick, TGN Synthetic, Stirling Glacial Balm) and then travelling south coaching from Thursday to Monday. Will have my usual travel set up with me for that trip (Ball End Tech, Omega travel boar, etc.) . So, will be off the Focus for the next 8 days or so.
    Have a great week, all!

@Linuxguile, I am sorry for your family's loss, Andrew. My sister in law's mother died on Friday. It was expected, because she has had aggressively advancing and ultimately terminal ALS that has steadily been robbing her of all quality of life over the last two years. But the loss still hurts her loved ones. My prayers for you and your family.

    Sunday shave

Another social day requiring and close shave so I went with the big Koraat and some 'super lather'. Four passes and no blood. Just a tickle from the alum prevented an epic shave.

16 July 2017 OLD Blade Focus
    Shave

Pre: Hot water, soap from the puck and a hot towel
    Razor: 1911 Gillette OLD
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Brush: Omega 10098
    Soap: Razorock XXX
Post: Hot/Cold rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Cella Lozione Dopobarba

This week, the audition will consist of the Shark Super Chrome. After my usual prep, lathered up with Razorock XXX. The 10098 loaded up after about 60 seconds on the puck. Did some swirling in my Lenox bowl and we were ready to rock & roll.
2.5 passes and my two day growth was gone. The OLD has picked up right where it left off on Friday. Did some J hooking on my lower neck and wound up with a BBS. The Shark was smooth and is a worthy counterpart to the GSB.
Splashed on some Cella Lozione Dopobarba and Sunday was underway. Monday will be here before ya know it.
    Have a great evening!

Did you have to reduce the glue plug to fit it in the 30 DC LE handle?
