Vintage Dubl Duck 'Hand Forged' 5/8," L'Occitane 'Cade' soap, custom Oscar11 boar brush, and Fine 'Lavender Pour Homme' aftershave splash. Love these old DDs—and this one is really old (early 1930s). Super-smooth final 'test shave' with this old DD before it ships out (with two others) tomorrow to the home of fellow TSD member @RichMack . Have a blessed Sunday, gents!
Going with the Japanese vibe on the thread today. My Suzy Q performed wonderfully. Light touch, super reduction, and nothing but face-rubbing goodness all the way around. Freshly restored ( light) and honed Robeson. Very satisfying when you can get a cast off and clean and hone it to where it'll provide a close comfortable shave leaving you dolphin smooth
What a beauty. Maybe you can give us all a fare assessment of their workmanship. I have been eyeballing this particular maker of razors for a while. Do the razors justify the expense? Please elaborate.
WTH! is up with all the Japanese razors? And such a fine selection at that. I have a Henckels that came from Japan, but I'm not sure that qualifies. it's a 72 1/2.
Thank you. It's one of my favorites. It had a wonderful factory edge and has given me many shaves with just regular stropping. I can't even comment about how it is to hone because I haven't had to home it yet. The workmanship is very nice and it came with a very nice finish. I have no complaints whatsoever. I think their price is reasonable for what they provide.
In keeping with the Japanese Theme, I used a Mid-Sized Japanese Folding Kamasori. I had a very nice 2 pass shave that left me near BBS. This is a true Kamasori, with a folding handle. It was a near silent and very stiff shave. These Kamasori razors are thick, and very sharp. The Japanese do take pride in their razor manufacturing, and it shows with the end results. Razor- Japanese Kamasori, Asymmetrically ground. "Micor 8000" Brush- Omega 10098 Boar Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented Aftershave- Florida Water

Avoided a few areas I had irritated over the last 2 shaves. No nicks, cuts or weepers.
Today's shave keeps with the Japanese theme, until I'm tired of using them. I had a great 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS, with no nicks, cuts, or weepers. I like the shape of this blade, because it's easy to get into tight places. I just have to be aware of the tip, at all times. This is a very well built razor, and takes a very sharp edge(Swedish Steel). Razor- Japanese "Bellman 45". By Taiheishokai. Swedish Steel.
