Frankenrazor- Maggard V3A & Utopia handle w/ Polsilver
    Simpson's Commodore Best
    Proraso green soap
    Witch hazel-pre & post
    Aqua Velva

I guess this frankenrazor has become my de facto July focus.

It was a rare day time pre work shave and it was really enjoyable! Have a great day ya'll!!

Since the V3A head is sold separately I'm not sure it's really a Frankenrazor..now if you switched the top cap that would be serious Frankenrazory.

    Thank you for the review!
Of the Proraso line I enjoy the red (sandalwood) soap, white (tea tree) soap, and green (C.O.Bigelow menthol cream & Proraso Refresh AS balm). Haven't tried the Blue. I read it was anise/black licorice scented. That's a flavor I tend to avoid.

First off, I would like to thank everyone for the thought and prayers for me and my family as we cope with the loss of my Grandmother. It is greatly appreciated.

Awesome photo Perry, Stirling has so many great sounding scents. I can't wait to try them all.
    Amazing photo Clint!
Coll shot Jim! are you going to continue using blades as long as they will go after this experiment ?
    Loving the Old!
    Nice setup, Brian!
That is one stunning razor, Joseph!
The me the difference between the Red tip and the normal SS is that the Red falls into the correct angle more naturally for me.

Thank you, Andrew! I will try a couple of more blades, just to see how the go. I am missing my SE razors, though, so I am going to have to give them a go soon.

    Gillette ABC Pocket Edtition
    Gillette Wilkinson Sword (3)
Dirty Deeds Bay Rum & Lime
    Satin Tip The Purest

I did a quick two pass shave this morning using the Dirty Deeds soap sample from Adam @Drygulch again. This time I loaded the soap until the brush was full of a thick paste. I then went into a face lather and only need to add a couple of drops of water to get to transform into a creamy, shiny lather. It must not be able to handle too much water before it becomes foamy and airy. Soap performance was much better, nice and slick with decent cushion. On its third use and with three days of growth the Gillette Wilkinson Sword felt a little tuggy but was able to pull off a two pass CCS which was all I was going for this morning. Have a great day my friends!

Beautiful setting and photo Doug. Did you take a photo from the same spot during the winter. The background looked similar but then again it was covered in snow during the winter. Sorry the SE1 didn't work out for you but I know how you feel. Life is too short.

Thanks very much Clint. I'm not sure if I took a picture from this spot in the Winter. I'll look over my pictures and get back to you.

    Tuesday shave:

Sunday I did some honing and my PRC Chimera was rehoned on my usual progression, Naniwa SS 1,3,5,12 Shapton glass 16k. The edge looked great through the loupe and it was tree topping hair so I had great expectations going into the shave.

By the second I knew it was another honing flop. The edge was just a little rough, it was sharp enough to cut but not sharp enough to get a close shave.

    Irritation A- Closeness B Smoothness B+ Sharpness B

    Razor: PRC Chimera
    Strop: Drygulch black latigo
    Brush: B400 WD silver tip
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: R66
    AS: Florida Water
    Scent: Creed Royal Mayfair
