I wonder if he would consider selling his proprietary information. The ingredients and they way they were combined made a product that is still desired. Profitability is another matter.

Your Dad sounds like a solid, stand-up guy, @Paul Turner. As the others said, without people determining what supplies are needed, where and when - and then getting them there - the Sharp End pretty quickly turns into a Blunt End and then eventually into the Dead End of a defeated army and nation. The "unglamorous" jobs and having people willing to do them thoroughly and steadily without "glory" or maybe even much credit is what makes the difference between "warriors" and professional "soldiers". The warriors make for good stories in things like the Iliad or the Viking Sagas; the professional soldiers make for 5-volume histories on things like "How We Came From Behind and Won WW2".

July 18 - Grand Blade Trials [IMG] Special Edition!!

    Razor - Kai Captain
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

Switching to the Kai stick tonight with the same Schick blade I've used the last two nights. Tabac and the LE brush for the lather. Slick as always with Tabac and the Tuxedo knot really made it easy. This brush really is a joy to use. I love the way it fits my hand and gets the job done with ease.

The blade is no worse than it seemed last night so maybe I was imagining things a bit. Smooth, still seemed a but tuggy but nothing horrible. The Kai head didn't seem to have any effect on how it performed compared to the Feather SS head. I still like the feel of the Kai in my hand just a bit more than the Feather. I think it is the shape of the handle that makes it feel better to me. I find the round Feather handle a bit on the slippery side at times even though it's rubberized.

Finish was a near-BBS so the blade can't be doing all that bad. It took three passes but no touch up so more like a two pass and heavy touch up. I still prefer the feel of the Kai or Feather blades but I'll give it another day or so to see how it does.

Mail Call!! Newly arrived and still smelling like Mother Russia - 200 of the finest.

    200 Voskies.jpg

Tatyana threw in a couple of Ladas and Rapiras as free gifts. Add these 200 to my stash and you have this......

    Russian stash.jpg

That's 1290 blades (only 9 tucks in the Rapira). Add what's hanging on the wall and the total rises to 1560 Russian beauties of various types. That doesn't count the singles and partial tucks I have on hand. My plans to survive the shavepocalypse are coming along nicely!!

My wife is quick to remind me of my particular acquisition disorder. I will occasionally see a picture of someone who has an entire room filled with various soaps and creams and make a comment about shooting me if I ever go overboard like that. Then I hear the hammer lock as she prepares to carry out my wishes - and reminds me that one man's soaps are another man's blades.

Meh....most Russian women I see are a bit chunkier. That one is much to skinny and not a red head....remember the fun is chunky dunkin...not skinny dipping.

    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: JR #142 black badger
    Lather: Soap Commander Influence
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Black Tea aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Very enjoyable shave this morning with Soap Commander Influence. First use with this soap and it did not disappoint. Terrific lather, easy to generate with great slickness and skin care properties. That's standard with Soap Commander. The scent was pretty strong. The description on the soap lid says Tobacco, Cherry, and Black Tea. You get all of those in a nice blend. Finished with some Black Tea aftershave by Jeeves.

Hope you have a great day!

18 shaves and still usable. I am seeing a few sings of wear, as it was just a bit tuggy. Two more to go. I hope everyone has a great day!

Hard to believe it is Wednesday morning. It has been a week for sure and feels like it should be Friday. :D At least I can have a good shave before starting the workday. The 30DC brush whipped up the Arroyo Cactus easily. I decided on a traditional 3 pass shave this morning so I could compare it to yesterday's 2 pass shave. Recalling my experience with the Core I used a some pressure today and trusted the pivot to do its job. The end result is easily one of the best 5 shaves of the year. Even my lower right neck which is my constant nemesis is nearly perfectly inspection ready. I finished with a splash of Floid Blue. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
