Congrats!! Daaamn I love the way timeless and charcoal razors look. They are on my wishlist, but the price prevents me from buying.

All days above ground are good days, but some are better than others. Today was one of those days. I saw there was an estate auction about a mile from the house today, and in the listing it stated there were straight razors. I don't know much about straights yet, but thought that where there are razors, there might also be brushes, mugs, lather bowls, etc. Instead of any of those items I found these, sitting in a little pile. A Fatboy was on my wishlist for sometime in the future, so when I saw two, I was thrilled. I figured that, at some point, I'd want an injector. Check. Needless to say, I was victorious! And, I got them for a steal. I ended up getting eight straight razors as well, most in fairly rough condition. I'll need to brush up on what's what with them. All in all, it was a great day! :happy108: IMG_0988.jpg

Nice. The injector on the top left is a Paul Revere model, made by Schick between 1971 and 1976 as a Bicentennial tribute. The handle was copied after a design Revere used in his tableware.

Thanks! I did look it up and saw it's a Paul Revere model, but I didn't know the rest...interesting! I like the looks of it, and now I suppose I need to source some injector blades to try it out!

Great haul! Looks like a 67 Slim, but can't see the date code on the Fat Boys. The black handled Schick looks like a L type, made from 1965 to 1980.

Thank you! You are correct on the Slim! The Fatboys are F1 (1960) & E4 (1959). The Schick...well, I'm not versed in them whatsoever...I'm gonna take your word on that!

I can't wait to hear how it shaves. I almost pulled the trigger on one from RR

Im not exaggerating when I say that it was one of the best shaves of my life. Kerry recommended the feather pro blade. It was super smooth and sharp.

The razor is very light. I thought it was going to be too light. BUT I WAS WRONG. it is amazing.

    No redness, cuts, or weepers.

Thanks. For my 2 cents, having both the Charcoal & Timeless, I think the Timeless is far a better razor from a performance stand point. I personally recommend the Timeless razor over the Charcoal if you are saving for one. The shave is just superior for me.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I just knew someone would point that out. :p

I'll try to grab a quick shot of them later on. They aren't cleaned up at all yet, as I'm not sure quite how to best clean up a straight. I need to look into it a bit more. The DE & SE pic I posted earlier, those were cleaned up a little bit. I hit 'em with Scrubbing Bubbles, brushed 'em, and threw 'em in the ultrasonic for a little bit. They aren't true perfection, but they look much better. Honestly, it was just a light layer of soap scum (like many others found in the wild) that comes off fairly easy. The straights are all pretty rusty, and the scales are rather rough on most of them.

Uh, huh. Rabbet hole ahead. Next thing you know the shopping begins. Brass washers & 1/16" rod, an anvil and small ball peen hammer, replacement scales, scale material, jig saw and belt sander... How soon before you set up a forge and try making your own Damascus steel?
    The fun never ends!
