It looks like my Aristocrat is in Greenville, SC, so that means it will probably be delivered on Thursday afternoon, so I will be shaving once again with this awesome SE razor. It is cool to shave with SE blades over 100 years old.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Badger brush. I did the two passes with the Gem Jr. 1911 Lather Catcher with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I had a wonderful shave just now with my Grandpa's old straight. This was always a decent razor but today I refreshed it with some others on some 1 micron lapping film and then some time on the Arkie. Wow! It just moved up into the top tier. The whiskers just fell and I am as smooth as can be.

lollllllllll With the a/c on, it's around 21 C or so but in my bathroom when I use the Obsidian or any other Glacial soap it feels like a windchill of -25 C!

I just go to the local lakes and parks for the most part just for fun. Never been noodling, but I have almost had my face ripped off by large snapping turtles, so I don't see me trying it any time soon. I do miss the ocean from growing up in Jersey. I think the only thing I ever caught on the shore back home were Horseshoe crabs.

I am fascinated with this barbasol floating head razor, been looking for a while and even ones that need revamps are are over 70 bucks, i hope to get lucky... this razor appears to be a holy grail

 

I managed to find one in the local antique shop. It wasn't in great condition, but it got it replated. I got the razor itself for $30 or so. They are out there.

T+S have admitted the first version of this soap was very smoky . . . and have dialed it back in newer batches. The MS silvertip is marvelous, and like it as much or more than their 2-banders - so was an incendiary shave - as some like it smoldering hot and provocatively piquant . . .
