My top in any order would be:

    1. Merkur Progress (It can be a mild or aggressive razor by a turn of the dial)
2.Gillette "British" Red Tip (I love Red Tips but the Brit ones just seem to be sturdier and smoother to me)
    3. Wilkinson Sword "Classic" (Inexpensive, light and easy to use this razor just amazes me with DFS)
    4. Trac II cartridge ( When it comes to cart razors two blades systems give me great shaves)
    5. Merkur HD model ( I use this one to judge all other safety razors against)

All razors pale in comparison to the 2011 R41. I shave with nothing else.

I forgot the floating head, it is super nice as well. Heavy but very maneuverable.

We should focus on "our best", "the best" is a circular debate.

I assume you mean shavette... I have a Parker, it is just fine. I went hard and heavy with straights for a while, then tried the shavette. I have a Kami that I have never used. I guess I just don't like what for me, is a contortionist routine, since I have to stretch the skin with the straight or shavette.

I think it should be specified of under or over $50. One could also have five favorite vintage or modern. We could do a power point presentation with pretty graphs and charts. BTW my five are always correct. :happy093:

BTW I might be full of :kngt:

All razors are the same. They all put the bevel on the skin the same way and all are capable of the same results.

I'm confused. You just said "mild razors cause irritation". Clearly razors don't cause irritation (unless you try to shave without a blade), right? Do you mean your shaving technique results in irritation when you use mild razors??
