Tonight's shave was with a razor that has been a headache since I bought it from a dealer in the UK. He polished the crud out of it, which could have something to do with it . It's a near wedge, that I just cannot seem to get a stellar shave off of. Just so, so, with smooth results. This one will go back to the basics. I will remove the mirror shine, and set the reset the bevel. Razor- "The Highly Popular Kohinoor" Brush- B400 By Tom Soap- MWF Aftershave- Avon Spicy
I really want to like this razor. Maybe it's because it's stainless I seem to have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. Today it surprised me at the end. The first two passes were OK and I wasn't hoping for much satisfaction at the end. Lo and behold the finish was better than expected. A very close shave all the way around with minimal noise from the alum. I agree and have commented on this setup in the past. This whole picture makes me drool in envy...minus the MWF. I have that but the hardware is...a thing of beauty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tonight's shave was with a very nice, and sharp, Japanese Razor/ I had a very smooth and comfortable 2 pass shave, with minor touchup around the chin. This left me with a BBS face, without any nicks, cuts, or weepers. A very well built razor. Razor- Japanese "KYOEI 55". SOTD: Vintage Frederick Reynolds 'The Old English Razor' 7/8" wedge; custom Jayaruh 2-band badger. I do enjoy these old Sheffield wedge razors!
Gorgeous razors boys! Keep up the good work! I'll have to get back to posting soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
John Clarke, Sheffield steel. This is a really loud shaver. Three passes and two days of sandpaper turned magically into dolphin skin.
After I lathered up for my morning shave I used my newly acquired Russian Rocket straight to shave one cheek. As I suspected, it is not ready for a full shave. I must send it out.
