Hmmmm. Cookie and some Russian house music celebrating the reappeared Soviet Consul!

    Raise em up! За здоровье!

(interesting vintage Soviet footage, also of grand trials)

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

None of my grand trials have ended as badly as some of those! Think Soyuz 1. Or the Russian who went up pre-Yuri Gagarin. Yes, yes, I know, some think that's a conspiracy theory, but there is evidence in existence of previous launches that were , shall we say, unsuccessful. I am in the camp that thinks that Yuri was not the first man in space. He was the first man to return from space.

There's much, as average people, we don't know (aren't told) about a lot of things. Sometimes secrecy and failure can be construed as conspiracy. Other times, deception. Yet other times, incompetence.

He was definitely the first one to simply return. Heck, I am not even sure we know the extent of our programs...both countries spent great treasure in programs filled with military people, at the height of a nuclear standoff.

    Wednesday shave, ultimate adjustable

The night before I took this razor to the hones, Naniwa SS 5,8,12 and finished with a Shapton glass 16k. Happy to say this honing was a success, the balde was uber smooth and sharp. I used my Shavey Award today for the soap and a 'spciey' shave. Four passes zero blood, zero irritation and if the BBS lasted a little longer it would have been epic. I will just settle for outstanding.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A

    Razor: Koraat 7/8 half hollow
    Strop: Harold Russian leather

    Brush: TW B400
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Indian Old Spice
    AS: Old Spice, Speick ASB

Calling for an Adjustable Focus makes for easy choices. Any blade that isn't defective on setting nine in a Fat Boy. For newer members of The Crew - hang around a while and you may max out your clickers. I started using this tool on number three. Then I joined the 30 DC. Technique happened and now this razor is pegged on wide open. I'm hoping to make some headway through a backlog of soap & cream samples & run odd blades through this razor. Meanwhile someone asked about soaps that lather in hard water conditions. My suggestion was for New Formula MW which this is not. And I have soft water. Great lather thanks to a newish boar knot in a retro styled handle crafted by TSD talent Tom @twhite. Soap supplied by a swap from The Box. (Watch for the next round, great way to spend a twenty spot) Bowl acquired from Jack @Sparrow. The combined supplies laid down a slick flavorful mess of lather with very decent residual. Those three passes in my slightly out of order but works for me W,A,& XTG followed by slides made great use of the lanolin and shea butter formula. Alum was - Surprise! - a cool block of glass with near zero report. Even the AS/EDC went on quietly. Great success for the start of the month.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Alive. I am sure that Yuri Gagarin was not only not the first man in space but he was not the first man to return from space. He was, however, the first man to survive the entire experience. Just like Chuck Yeager was not the first pilot to break the sound barrier deliberately but rather the first one to do so and land in one piece.

Thank you, Clint. I re-knotted it. I got it as a Shavey from Randy and used the Cashmere knot I had ordered with the 30DC Brush. It is becoming a favorite of mine, now. I have to say, the Cashmere knot is very nice.

Oh boy it has been a week and it's only Wednesday. Another fantastic drama free 2 pass shave to start the day. I have always enjoyed the herbal scent of Agua Balsamica but wished it had more menthol. I cured that issue by adding a couple of menthol crystals. Now I get the wonderful herbal scent and with the cool down. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

I have the Qshave and it's great. It's the same razor as the Ming Shi but supposedly goes through one more QC inspection.
