Busy morning around the homestead. My oldest is moves back to T Town for her Senior year at Alabama. Of course she has so much stuff it takes sister and mother to make the road trip as well. I have had a wonderful summer with her and I am sure it'll hit me in a day or two that she is gone again. Another great near perfect shave this morning. I did have to go to 3 passes and a little more touch ups to get the results. This blade starts to fall off after 3 shaves and requires more passes and work to get the same results. The extra work is worth the effort if I can consistently stretch the blade to five shaves. A splash of Floid Blue and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Second shave with the Blades Grim Smoulder for my comparison and I've definitely dialed it Dow to a winner though it's close. Today's shave offered a little irritation around the upper lip but nothing an alum block couldn't solve.

Really nice shave this morning. I should be back on a more normal routine after a crazy three weeks. It's funny how our routines can sometime drag us down and make us feel like automatons in a seemingly endless cycle of sameness. Then again when out of the routine for a while I begin to long for the comfort and predictability of the routine. It's an interesting concept. Oh well, I digress.....

I enjoyed the lather quality from the Fine Lavender soap. Jim's (@Jayaruh) #142 brush always works splendidly. The aftershave contains a good amount of menthol and the scent is quite nice. Really a nice shave overall.

    Have a great day!

I agree with you Adam. This is a hard group to keep up with. I have been very busy at work and it's all I can do to read all the posts.
Have a great vacation. Yellowstone is beautiful.

A valiant effort for sure, but there was clearly not enough pontificating or self promotion to take the title!

Sarcasm is always worth the risk. I had a buddy who was project manager for GE on the joint strike fighter jet. I'd call him at work and we would pepper in words like Chinese, espionage, and bomb into our conversation. We pictured someone with headphones in a room somewhere trying to figure out what in the world we were talking about.

I'm beginning to give some respect and credence to the Lavender scent for men.

You should! There are tons of nice lavender scents available. The Fine Lavender isn't straight lavender. It's mixed with another scent, perhaps peppermint. I think @clint64 could chime in a little better than me. My scent descriptions are on the level of vocabulary that my 2.5 year old has!

I did my soap shave(Stirling Glacial Wintergreen)this morning with just one pass. Decided to be careful around the chin(where I had my cut yesterday). My first time doing a "Johnny-One- Note" with a soap.

Block Soap(hands) has lavender as one of its scents. I'll be back for that one when needed.

I'm not the best either at scent descriptions. I will say that I will gladly describe a scent as "manly", or "sophisticated" when I have the chance.

Actually, I hadn't heard that version before so it was a pleasant surprise.

I was hoping, though, that you were going to kick the month off with the Family Dollar Dorco. :D

College has become August-May now. I could never listen to a professor lecturing on a hot steamy August day.

    Razor: Schick M3 Adjustable (4)
    Blade: Schick Proline B (2)
    Brush: 30DC/Pure Badger
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I think I didn't post yesterday's shave which was with the Schick Adjustable and a Personna Twin. After that one, though, I decided to retire the Twin blade and go with the Proline for today. Overall, a decent shave though not the closest in some spots. I suspect that that was partially due to the milder setting of '4'. I went milder because of the sharpness of the blade but may have gone too far.

Always mixed feelings when they go. You are happy for them that they are moving forward and doing well with their lives, but miss them too.

    Very nice , Mark!
This is my experience with the soap too.
A bit of oneupmanship I see. Well I'll call that wager.

    Nice composition, Chris!
    Nice pic, Clint!
What was smolder up against? I love the scent, performance is good, but not top tier.
I would certainly like to get back into a normal routine.
How's the longevity of the OS lime cologne, Brian ? I'd love to find me some vintage juice but it seems all I can find around here are empty bottles.
